If the background is totally blurred out, that's not an example of good bokeh, that's just an example of blurring out. Good bokeh lenses will make less blur objects look 2D and not distracting while keeping the object 3D. That's the real challenge there. If you really want to know what good bokeh is, this link will tell you. http://www.rickdenney.com/bokeh_test.htmmindkiller6610: Sadly, the E-330 is discontinued. The viewfinder was more dim though. I'm guessing, the CF to MS adapter only comes with the A200 with presales, because it comes with a 2 GB Memory Stick. Otherwise how are you gonna put the 2GB MS in the A200's CF slot? Anyway, a 4GB CF is real cheap now.

Agree with albert on bokeh definition, to blur out is easy, use high zoom and big aperture can make the background into pain color.
But to standout the subject from the background and to make sure the background not distarcting is very challenging.
If only blur out, any place, any background will not be important. Then no need to choose a place or scene to shoot portrait. But to have a good standout, it will make your pic looked very smooth, comfortable and you can know actually where the pic was taken.

Can any1 explain to me of d usage of UV filter?
I dont hv a filter for my kit lens for d moment... i suppose we need to protect our lens with UV filter from scratches n other harm?
How about polarizer filter... can make photos looks more colourful n higher contrast? can I use polarizer filteras Uv filter?
Mind sharing how approximately is this 2 filters for a 55mm kit lens?

Cheap UV filter will degrade the optics performance.
UV filter actually cuts down some UV rays (not all). Enhanced coating will help reduce glare and such. Other than that it's more about protecting the glass.
I don't use any though...unless I'm shooting paintball game...lol.

Very often I heard that UV filter creates glares because it creates another layer of glass in front of the lens. This post has been edited by kelvinyam: Jan 27 2008, 10:03 AM
