The A200 price is already up in sony webpage. The price is no different compare to the presale price, except for the free memory and accessories coupon.

Going to get the A200 soon, want to ask is the kit lense enough for low light photography?

Is there any fast lense for alpha that is comparable to the canon 50mm f1.8 both quality and price?

the A200 twin lens kit arrived at midvalley sony centre.

To the potential owner whoe doesn't own a CF card, you might want to consider getting it next monday instead since the MSPD-CF converter isn't available until then

getting the actual CF card is a good option, but the thing is that since sony give out a 2G MSPD during its presale, without the converter, the MSPD will have no use, unless you have other device that can make use of it.

The A200 comes with a MSPD-CF converter, just that the converter is currently out of stock in midvalley sony centre. Stock will arrive on monday according to the staff there.

During A200 presale two weeks ago, sony throw a 2GB MSPD into the A200 package. Since presale is over, the offer is no longer available from sony centre. You might try negotiating for it if u buy from shop other than the sony centre.

Regarding the flash voucher, when i got my unit from midvalley sony center, the sales representative told me it's valid until end of march just like the rest of the vouchers when i enquire about the "on the spot purchase" condition.

Anyway, just surveyed shops around sg.wang and found that i can get the F36 at RM800 without using the vouchers. And lens price are qouted much lower at shop compared to price after cash voucher rebate at sony center.

What is the different when setting the D-RangeOptimizer to off, standard and advanced?

What setting should i use if i'm taking landscape in order to balance the exposure between the sky and the ground? and where should i meter on?

thanks for your advice

You mean DRO will introduce noise to the pict?

yeah, did that with the AEL button, but when i meter the sky, i lost details of the ground and vice-versa. Does CPL help in creating balance between the two?

Went to snap snap with A200 at Don Zen temple's exhibition in conjunction with CNY. As usual, i'm the only Alpha shooting there, while i see a few C and N.

Just upgraded from cybershot T-7 to A200, well, from the photos taken, never regreted i stick with sony. And best of all, SSS really did it's job well.

All hand-held. First time using a camera with SSS, and was quite amazed on how long i can keep the cam steady with the SSS.

yeah, and all taken using kit lens.

One question i have in mind, does using focus lock have the same effect as utilising the 9-point AF?
I can't seems to find any difference in them, thus always locking center focus and recompose the pict instead of utilising the 9-point AF.

Is that the M mode that create 3 same images with slightly different coloring?

Recompose is where u focus lock your subject by half pressing ur shutter release button, reframe ur subject's then only fully press the shutter button.

been using focus lock when i'm still in pns. With A200, can utilize the 9-point Af which is convenient when u know where u want to put ur subject at in the frame.

But the 8 way navigation control of the A200 really need some time to get used to. Always selected the wrong point since i have quite a big thumb

Below is a random pict at ISO-800 taken with A200. 1st pict, composition and focus is kind of out, ate too much and lazy to concentrate on taking pict, haha.
Haven't have the chance to go ISO-1600 yet.

Is it? hehe, going to snap some during cny just for the fun of it. Haven't get use to the functions of A200 yet, so won't be expecting much.

Btw, ianho, how much did u get ur F36? thinking of getting 1 too, but scared that it will make photo taking harder cause have to take care of both the flash and camera settings.
