Travel from osaka to kyoto daily.. for 3 days..

I'm not sure if it's the same management.

Hmmm guess I should try to be there earlier in my itinerary so that I can book for the English speaking tour in advance..

Hope I'm lucky to get same day tickets though...

jus use google map. off course need data. it will even show u live schedule for busses/trains.

better off staying @ kyoto for few days. definitely need more than a day

Those that purchased travelrecommends Buy 1 free 1 icoca/suica cards, did you get the e-voucher to redeem the tickets in Japan?

All i got was a invoice/receipt sent to my email. Not sure if this is sufficient to redeem the physical cards later?

I had the same issue too, their system is having some glitches. Do WhatsApp their 24 line. The voucher would be sent to your email address.

Google Map good? Last time at Korea, Google Maps totally cannot use.

Google Map good enough. Or use navitime or jorudan app

For korea, not sure about google maps but I used maps.me and it was fine

I also plan on doing the same as Chester stay at Osaka travel to Kyoto daily.

I thought doing so can save hassle & time packing and repacking. Furthermore checkout is morning in one hotel and 3 pm in the other hotel. 1/2 day pass already.

Sapporo Beer Museum ; besides the free short self-tour, after that at the eating hall, can buy 3 glasses of Classic, Black Label & Kaitakushi at slight discount .... unless you can't consume alcohol lah.

Can skip Hokkaido Museum (further from Sapporo city centre), relatively nothing much to see for ¥600; but Hokkaido University Museum (nearer) got more things to see, for free ... (got nice milk ice-cream at the university museum cafe).

Eating ... Nijo market ... had my best salmon sashimi (so far in my life, I feel) there (supposedly was Premilum Summer Salmon , dunno autumn/winter got the same salmon or not)
If you like shiroi koibito cookies, then maybe Ishiya Chocolate Factory is a must.

Sight-seeing ... the usual around city centre okay attractions such as Odori Park, Sapporo TV Tower, Clock Tower, Former Hokkaidō Government Office ... those instagrammable places.

December ... not yet Sapporo Snow Festival ... too bad.

Otaru ... main attraction is the canal ... seafood, ya, maybe Sapporo can get the same quality (Nemuro on the other hand, seems fresher, maybe placebo thinking ... but that's too far away) ... I guess if you're a fan of the movie "Love Letter (1995)", maybe it's another must.

Everyday travelling time between Osaka and Kyoto is no joke. 2 hours plus to and fro!

Traveling from Osaka to Kyoto can easily visit Nara/Uji in the morning/afternoon before checking into the hotel which is what I'm planning to do.

depending on how many days u plan to go kyoto
u may think it saves hassle but it's creating more hassle
because u need to wake up so early everyday to maximize the time u got since u need 1 hour each way to and back from kyoto
the train fare surely isn't a problem since it's already saved from the accommodation
it's the time that u need to sacrifice to go back and forth everyday and u can't stay there until it's too late because it's takes an hour to go back

and if you're living in namba area, there is no direct route...u need to transit at a major station in order to reach kyoto or get back home

Another added reason I thought is the sakura forecast for 2020 is not out yet and I am booking the hotel now. So next year I have the flexibility to rearrange my itinerary which date to go to Kyoto to catch full bloom.

But planning to be there quite a while 12 days.

better book early, even for airbnb..they run out fast
i really do not recommend going JP next year
the price of flight ticket is already not looking good for me since olympic year for japan
everything else will be inflated AF

But but after Olympic, if wanna go after July, maybe in September, should be ok kua? (usually not peak period due to typhoons uncertainties)

My only worry is I will be driving from CTS airport to ski resort then 3 days later to Sapporo city. Just hope the road condition is not too bad. I did drive in the US in the winter before, but over there they do salt the highway. Worst case will go 40-50 km/h. 2hrs becomes 4 hrs drive.

Watched a few youtube vlogs, seems like the must eat are Uni, Red King / Hairy Crab, BBQ lamb. Not too crazy about the uni and crabs but will try. Ramen and sushi is my thing, and the roast meat .

I think i will take the bullet train. 15mins.

Sept? Gilakah? Travel to there in peak typhoon season, somemore there is still summer heat remaining. Unless you prefer to stay cooped in ur hotel room.

Even when I went in early Oct, I was worried about typhoon and so happens my stay duration was between 2 typhoons.

3rd quarter of Oct to Nov is look to be the best time.
