just found out airbnb in osaka and kyoto is expensive, it's even more expensive than what i stayed in shinjuku like 3 years ago
hotels in kyoto is even more insanely priced
The cheapest airbnb i can find for 5D4N is RM1800 for 4 person near kyoto station

this is what i can come up for kyoto so far...need opinion
Oct 3rd (Thursday) – Reached Kyoto
Oct 4th (Friday) – Kiyomizu-dera, Kodaiji Temple, Yasaka Shrine till Gion-Shijo Station, Kawaramachi Shopping Street, Nishiki Market, Imperial palace
Oct 5th (Saturday) – Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Golden Pavilion
Oct 6th (Sunday) – Fushimi Inari, Uji(Maybe), Nara

Anyone idea where can i slip in ginkakuji and philosopher's path?..or can skip?
or put on monday morning?

Japan still allow airbnb ke? Thought banned? sweat.gif

allow provided you have license and registration number approved and given by gov

i have no choice but to go kyoto weekend if i wanna go USJ weekdays laugh.gif
unless i do daytrip from osaka of course but namba's airbnb and kyoto's airbnb price difference is just not worth the daytrip it seems(for 4 people)
*
Negligible difference in terms of weekdays vs weekends crowds, which is why I avoid theme parks completely nowadays
It's better to get the express pass if you want to maximize your time at the theme park

thanks for the tips
ya, kyoto seem like cheapest is airbnb and even at that price...fuuh, it's expensive
not yet even including osaka accommodation sweat.gif

for the bamboo forest, i don't think i'm coming back via train
i read first page, based on regentcid, stated using bus to go back kyoto station from golden pavilion

will consider stopping by uji but IMO just not much things to visit in uji based on my list right now

and do u mean can skip ginkakuji and philosopher's path?
*
Philosopher's path is only nice during spring or autumn. With your timing, only go if you have time, otherwise skip

For arashiyama, it's better to be there early to avoid crowds and also to get a better chance of scoring seats on the sagano train, then bus it to kinkakuji. Can skip ginkakuji if you've already seen kinkakuji

Nara is sorta a must cos it has todaiji

Have no regret to travel far to Okayama, as less tourist over there, Okayama Korakuen is impressive

Anyway, if anyone looking for spaworld alternative in osaka, I.will recommend this newly open Solaniwa onsen in Osaka Bay tower.

i can't book hotel because i travel in 4 person, i have to use airbnb to lower the cost

and my god that itinerary for that 2 day, it's like touch and go visiting so many places within a day that is in different areas blink.gif
i wonder how much time is spent on 1 specific location
*
Doable actually if you just focus on an area instead of zipping from one side of town to the other

plenty of time, that's not even the last train departing from airport yet
if limousine bus, it operates until 2AM also got bus(depending where u wanted to go)
*
Need to factor in the queues at immigration counter and wait time at conveyor belt
Limousine bus expensive...

well, arrival like that...u got no choice since u already saved money on the flight
if the flight no delay, u should be able to make it to the last or 2nd last train(like i did)
but if flight delay, there is always airport limousine bus that operate until 2AM

but whether or not it's worth to book the accommodation is up to individuals

Save moneh, sleep in airport owai laugh.gif

if u don't mind sharing toilet, can search for hostel
or can try luck on airbnb, bear in mind, airbnb in japan now is subjected to hotel tax
so it's not gonna be cheap but the conveniences of having a washer is > hotel

kyoto after i've done some research is a must visit compared to osaka, more things to see and visit in kyoto than osaka
but the accommodation in kyoto is alot more expensive
u can choose to back and forth everyday from osaka but it's gonna waste some time
well, want to save money is like that
your blog not updated already?

Japan welcoming Olympic 2020. JR Rail Pass system also been upgraded.
Now you no needed claim passes from JR Central Office. You can printed it out from Machine (Light Blue Color) (24Hrs)
Select Language to English (Skip this part if you know Japanese)
Just need key in Exchange Order Number + Activation Date. Then Scan your Passport to confirm is you.
Done.

Sifu RegentCid, for May 2020 travel to Tokyo, is it too early to book accommodation now? Is it correct to say that some hotels have yet to open reservation yet and thus not listed in booking sites like agoda, etc? Thanks
*
IMO, for Japan, need to book as soon as it's available
Rooms usually sell out very fast, sometimes even up to 1 year in advance hmm.gif

Depends on the damage, this typhoon seems like a very damaging one. Despite that, almost everything will resume the next day or two after landfall

Also, airport might be closed, depending on how close the eye is. Last time Kansai closed for a week cos of a tanker hitting the bridge connecting it to mainland
