So if the box has dual wifi and bluetooth, it is ok to buy tx3 2Gb?

I have TX3 mini 2Gb and so far no problem using it. Got both dual wifi and bluetooth (5g wifi really useful but bluetooth haven't try). The only problem I got is Netflix's resolution very low (expected problem). So I think it depends on what you will use the box for. For casual use like Youtube, play movie file (not 4k) and playtv it is really enough. The cost is already low so the damage also minimize. Of course, you can't expect much for this price range box.
*
right... these boxes are already cheap, why stinge on it?! biggrin.gif
like everything else, best to go for a level where u do not face strange problems later.
i have used 2+8, 2+16, 4+32, 4+64gb...
while it is not always about the x+y gb, it is almost always faster/smoother overall with higher ram+storage.
the other more impt thing is the box manufacturer firmware.
a better box with 2+16 can give better video n audio than a lousy 4+64gb - online streams or local playback.

bottomline... imo, either go for the lowest price base functional box or the higher priced ones with proven features u require.

Dont waste money and time if you are expecting to watch netflix HD@4K on cheap chinese android box.. please remember only buy the devices listed below if you want to watch netflix in HD@4K:
1. Nvidia Shield
2. Amazon Fire TV (Cube/Stick)
3. Apple TV
4. Mibox S

Cheapest option for Netflix HD? Go for Amazon Firestick (non 4K). The price is cheap, below 200 average. If you are willing to use forwarder, buy during Amazon Sales (Black Friday, Cyber Monday).

In fact, I would really recommend Amazon Firestick. even though you won't get Google Playstore, heck, it is android based. You can still sideload a lot of them apks.

Beelink? Crap. Hacked netflix ESN and must reapply Netflix ESN box if netflix blocked their ESN again and again.

For TX3 (Using the S905X3, not the mini/max which is using S905W CPU), only go for 4GB.. 2GB is only single band wifi.. don't be stingy.. go ahead and spend your hard earn money..
*
Firestick ESN numbers have been used by people already to get Netflix HD/4k on non-firestick TVBoxes.

Firestick netflix apk has been copied out of firestick, and then installed on normal non-firestick TVBoxes. That's how a netflix certified ESN number can be created.

I don't know how long netflix will take figure out how to differentiate real Firestick ESN number vs the fake ESN numbers.

higher ram does not mean it always better.. CPU is the main factor.. nvidia shield the most powerful android box only have 3GB of RAM..

look in utube.. H96 Max, using RK3188.. 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.. but the performance is worse than a TX3 mini.. the Rockchip RK3188 is really low end CPU..

How would one verify the actual stream quality achieved via AstroGo ? I have a feeling people are getting 720p thereabout only.

Yup, if the lowest price has all the functions you need, why go to a higher price? After all the gadgets all around me, I think better I become stingy. From experience, all the additional functions I was so hyped when buying them usually will only useful within 1, 2 weeks while I'm exploring it. Then only use basic function. So, if we know what we really need, then cheapo products sometimes can perform well.

i have no tool to confirm with numbers, hard data.

but i can say a better box will produce better video (and audio) than a poorer one.
with same tv (and same AVR), my himedia q10pro (rm600) give better video and audio than rm180 tx3
and that applies to all streams and playback, not just astrogo.

that is to say, the stream may appear poorer in a poorer box.
hardware, build, firmware... all impt beside input signal.

I see, as for a better box, which box would you recommend? I think i don't mind to spend more to get better video and better stream.

"Better" means different things to different people.

What are the features r u looking for besides better picture quality?

Audio? Home theater? What apps u use often? Netlfi 4K?

Do u do local playback, i.e. yr own videos? 4k, hdr, dolby vision, BDMV?

Or just basics?

For netflix 4k and amazon prime, i'm using the native app available in my tv, but i do not mind having them in the tv box as well. I want astro go app so it is a must have in the tv box.

For audio, i dont really mind as i am not using home theater.

For local playback, i do play 4k, hdr and dolby vision but not BDMV.

Another requirement is it must be able to stream the live subscription channel like the myiptv4k or mypadtv4k well.

yr listed requirements... the key one is DOLBY VISION.
if u mean dolby vision for online streams like netflix, amazon prime, very few can do - shieldtv pro 2019 will do.
will cost a bit and u may not be utilizing hd audio and gaming capabilities.
but i do not know if it can do local playback files with DV.
there are boxes that do DV local playback but cannot do netflix hd/4k! biggrin.gif

also, if u r considering ahem apps like myiptv4k... they typically work fine on regular android boxes.
but those running on AndroidTV (ATV) os tend to be a bit fussy, may reject - this u gotta check actual box user.

if u exclude netflix 4k/dv (u use yr TV), more choices.

ugoos am6/am6 pro has good reviews, does dolby vision local playback.

i am also waiting to read reviews of this himedia s500:

and minix u22xj:

not to hijack this tanix tx3 thread, suggest u can read and ask users of the specific boxes:

Forgot to mention, TX3 is not a good choice for Liga M lovers.. as Iflix will encounter issues when go to full screen mode only for Iflix Live TV.. Iflix movies, tv series all other are OK..

For simple popular apps incl astrogo, there is plenty to choose from.

The cheapest being the box of this thread, tx3mini at rm100.

Not the best or greatest box but it works, serves its purpose well.

Now, if u venture into home theater, hd audio, bdmv full menus, that will requure a diff class of boxes.

Thanks for the recommendation bro. Bought the tx3 S905X3 4gb+64gb for RM165 using public bank promo code, wanted to get the 4gb+32gb but the 4gb+4gb is just RM19 more so pulled the trigger on the 4gb+64gb version.
