i know tx3 mini can passthrough dtshdma, ddtruehd but no idea if it can do dtsx and dd atmos.
here, a report that tx3 max can! we already know tx5 max and tx6 cannot do any of these lossless audio passthrough.

see, when it comes to boxes, 90% users go for video, not audio.
me, i need the audio part.. i find it strange why anyone wud want 4k, hdr, dv, etc... yet aac2.0 audio?!
even dd/dts5.1 does no justice... u gotta watch big videos with big audio, at least ddtruehd or dtshdma.
if not, better stick with 1080p or 720p.

i can tell u it is HARD to find boxes that can pass thru lossless audio.
there are only a handful that can do it; most boxes can't, can only do lossy dd/dts.

the ones that can do lossless audio go back a decade - ac ryan, himedia can do this, yes, 8-10 yr old boxes from them can, and still do.
which means today's box makers don't see a need for HD lossless audio capability, sees video as lot more impt.
u know this beelink gt-king at rm450... can't do lossless audio, no use to me.

player.. only a handful of box makers have their own native player, and if they do, typically offer all of it... incl dtsx, dd atmos.
incl himedia, egreat, zidoo.
others typically have a shitty native player or count on kodi, mx, vlc.
some do a better job than others, e.g. shieldtv, minix using (customized) kodi.
the rest... some ok, some not... touch n go.

as for tanix, i do not like what tx3 mini can do with full bluray playback - alto it can do dtshdma/ddtruehd, the video is jerky, no good.
i am hoping tx3 MAX will do better... hesitant to buy at rm140, but will take the risk if closer to rm100, give it a try.
tx5 max at rm240 is overall excellent... all files incl biggest bluray play smoothly BUT... alas, only dd/dts... this is my frustration.

if only some box maker using s905x2 or s922x can give me what i am looking for for <rm400!!

Using Youtube Vanced on a 2/16 TX3 mini.  OTA on the box says firmware is the latest (201812xx - can't remember the last 2 numbers).
Read somewhere saying disabling hardware acceleration may solve the issue so wanted to try.

No problem on all other apps.

Tx3 can do 1080p. Can watch Twitch > DOTA 2 games comfortably at 1080p
Once you have the sellers repository, you would use the Modded Smart Youtube TV and the Youtube Vanced instead of the official Youtube app.

H265, some videos can, some videos cannot, depends on video source. Normally I notice it is not the hardware problem, but more to the necessary codec not available. So it is hard to say, you may even have the latest Amlogic AM905X2, and still have problems playing certain H265 streams. This from my own experience.

be sure to get an air mouse for your parents to use the Astro Go app.
The IR remote can do the job but a bit of hassle selecting and changing channels.
And I find out old folks don't like the Wireless keyboard with the touch pad for mouse, fingers just not steady enough.

I hv found out dat magisk manager can hide d root so dat d box cud bypass d security chk by aotg or any other apk dat requires unrooted box only. Atleast dats d info i got from xda dev forum. Any of u guys hd tried the magisk?
And come to think of it, i cancelled my intention of buying this tx3mini & opted for tx3max instead. Just found out dat tx3max has d option to able/disable roots permission on d fly. Price slightly more than tx3mini by bout rm20 or so. Might as well getting d tx3max & lessen my head/heartache fiddling wt d tx3mini firmware.
Anyw, tengs so much & sori to trouble u guys. Next move now is to lurk around tx3max disc thread (if ders any) & looking for more infos bout it further & what features it has got to offer. TQ!

Thanks man.. just got my hands on a batch of GT MINI S905X2, 4GB RAM, 32GB storage.. wow, AOTG can be run after full unroot of the system.. blazing fast.. S905X2 is quite impressive.. but avoid unknown brand of S905X2 boxes.. they tend to have random freeze issue.. damn..

Coming in soon.. both 2GB and 4GB version.. 2GB is already good.. I am using it right now.. performance wise is very similar to a S912 with 3GB RAM for the MINI 2GB.. the CPU really makes the difference.. well, I have to finish my stock of GT1-A first.. well, androidtv interface is not everyone cup of coffee.. ask those mibox users who are in panic when they launch their AOTG for the first time.. all have to tilt their head.. and somemore, the gt mini a is not google certified.. not sure how long the netflix HD/4K will last.. if Beelink really applies for the certification, then expect 50% increase in price.. as I heard it is not cheap for google/netflix cert.. think about it.. how come a box with no sd card slot, 2gb ram, no LAN port, 1 usb port cost more than a box better in spec..

Some noob user also like lost when they using androidtv.. eh, my phone can see this app, why my box cant see? They dont realize that their playstore for atv is difference.. they also dont know that normal app when install inside atv, the app shortcut does not appear.. need to install sideload launcher..

I think astro never consider AndroidTV at all.. not sure about their new beta program.. is it compatible or not..

Hi guys, got my tx3 mini and it is all setup. Been running astro go for a few days using android republica mod apk v8.2.4. However, the astro go app has released a banner mentioning new astro go coming soon since yesterday. and today they are forcing the update on the v8.2.4 version. v8.2.6 on my phone works just fine. any link for 8.2.6 modded apk? searched through the forum but found only 8.2.4

I visited android Republica vault a few days ago, the 8.2.6 mod was updated in one of its folders. But I believe there is another mod APK which is Zip Aligned version. Both works just fine.

I have tried normal 8.2.6 apk but it detected my device as a rooted device even after I have close root using the built in superSU, rebooted multiple times, reinstall and clear app data. Then I turn towards 8.2.4 mod and it works without any hassle. However, there seems to be some instability issue with 8.2.4 as it crashes sometimes.

got it working with 8.2.6 mod. have anyone tried the beta version? dont know if update will be forced when it roll out.
