QUOTE(emperor^10 @ Dec 9 2019, 11:44 PM) Hi All, tx3mini, tx3 s905x3 uses amlogic chipset.Should I go for the TX3 or TX6? Which is better? Saw AVFAN sifu recommended TX3... But why? Thanks s905x3 is a pretty new chipset, cool, reliable and very popular with box makers. tx6 uses allwinner chipset, have some overheating issues, do search n read. tx6 hasn't got a root switch, so u gotta get seller to unroot it for u if u wish or u DIY with some work. tx6 has ext antenna, tx3's dun - ext antenna gets u getter wifi. tx6 is cheaper than tx3 s905x3 but more than tx3mini, difference being rm20-50. yr choice... |

QUOTE(tuckchai88 @ Dec 11 2019, 04:10 PM) Hi AVFAN. Seller must be mistaken or unaware.I msg the seller you bought your TX3 905X3 for 2gb 16gb. He said that this tvbox has no unroot function. The root switch is in Settings.. superuser... close root there. Ask seller to recheck! I will be surprised if it is there for 4+32, 4+64 but not 2+16. Even tx3mini 2+16 has it. QUOTE(emperor^10 @ Dec 10 2019, 02:32 PM) Tanix TX6 is quite popular...just go for the 4gb/64gb variant. If u are adventurous enough...u can go for the amlogic s912 octa-core Tanix TX9S from gearbest.com for RM107. It supports AOTG and unifi tv apps too, but need to disable root from the settings menu. |

Avoid the 2GB version.. only go for TX3 4GB.. most probably like TX6 mini, the 2GB version only came with single band wifi, and also no bluetooth.. all my stock of TX3 have dual band wifi and bluetooth.. and yes, there is root on@off switch.. happy hunting!!!
Please avoid at all cost all the Tanix that came with 2GB version like TX6 mini, TX3 2GB RAM.. there is a reason why the boxes are selling at very cheap price.. u will regret later, as u cannot simply add another wifi band or install bluetooth adapter.. dont be so cheapo.. unless u are very poor.. Amlogic S912 is older gen processor.. not worth it anymore.. in the antutu benchmark, the difference between S912 and Allwinner H6 is just few thousands, not 10 of thousands..i ran antutu benchmark myself on TX3 S905X3, and also TX6 TX3 = 70,000++ TX6 = 45,000++ Last time I ran as well Antutu on GT1 Mini which use S905X2. I ran test on both 2GB and 4GB version. GT1 mini 2GB = 50,000++ GT1 mini 4GB = 60,000++ It looks like the S905X3 is really an upgrade to previous version. |

I think the new TX3 with S905X3 would be the new 'must buy', over the TX6. They more or less have the same capabilities. This tx3 is the cheapest.... why pay rm300-400 when u can get for rm180 or lower?! And Tanix is not a new brand, well liked by many. I hope the next model...s905x4 or s922x... will have hd audio capabilities, dolby vision. |

I have TX3 mini 2Gb and so far no problem using it. Got both dual wifi and bluetooth (5g wifi really useful but bluetooth haven't try). The only problem I got is Netflix's resolution very low (expected problem). So I think it depends on what you will use the box for. For casual use like Youtube, play movie file (not 4k) and playtv it is really enough. The cost is already low so the damage also minimize. Of course, you can't expect much for this price range box. |

QUOTE(qwerty79 @ Dec 12 2019, 11:09 AM) So if the box has dual wifi and bluetooth, it is ok to buy tx3 2Gb? Dont waste money and time if you are expecting to watch netflix HD@4K on cheap chinese android box.. please remember only buy the devices listed below if you want to watch netflix in HD@4K:I have TX3 mini 2Gb and so far no problem using it. Got both dual wifi and bluetooth (5g wifi really useful but bluetooth haven't try). The only problem I got is Netflix's resolution very low (expected problem). Of course, you can't expect much for this price range box. 1. Nvidia Shield 2. Amazon Fire TV (Cube/Stick) 3. Apple TV 4. Mibox S Cheapest option for Netflix HD? Go for Amazon Firestick (non 4K). The price is cheap, below 200 average. If you are willing to use forwarder, buy during Amazon Sales (Black Friday, Cyber Monday). In fact, I would really recommend Amazon Firestick. even though you won't get Google Playstore, heck, it is android based. You can still sideload a lot of them apks. Beelink? Crap. Hacked netflix ESN and must reapply Netflix ESN box if netflix blocked their ESN again and again. For TX3 (Using the S905X3, not the mini/max which is using S905W CPU), only go for 4GB.. 2GB is only single band wifi.. don't be stingy.. go ahead and spend your hard earn money..
