Wait a minute, you meant that the battery was bought on 20.2.2024 and recently in about 6 months time after the battery was installed, you had noticed a strange smell in your air-conditioning system ?

OIC Thanks

Now there can be 3 situations which causes the electrolytes to escape out, either from

1. The casing had suffered some crack ; OR
2. The battery has already aged ; OR
3. The vehicle charging system is not functioning properly and it's Over-Charging the battery

You will have to work out which is which.

The smell can be described as burnt acrid sulphur correct ?

I saw on the FB group, more and more owners jump to Lithium (LiFePOβ‚„) car battery, which can outlast any MF battery car for longevity. If it is indeed can last 4-7 years, it should be a good upgrade on any car, especially cars that belong to GF, Wife.
*
Would like to try the LiFePo4.
Don't know if it's possible to use on my car, as the battery charges best between 13.9V and 14.6V. (info from the web)
My alternator output ~ 13.50 - 14.08V. I presume it's slightly low.
It's also important to choose one specifically engineered for automotive use.
Currently it's still not widely accepted by most people because of the upfront cost.

Ohhh. Previously was (12+6)18 months, if I'm not mistaken.
Don't know what the additional 6months entail. πŸ€”

Nice.

Recently I just did an Atos and I have to say, despite it's age that alternator is still in damn good condition. So yeah, I am hoping this Atoz would achieve the 4 years too just like yours. πŸ™‚

If I remembered correctly the additional 3 months would be for those who registers their battery's warranty online.

yup this is the main reason, in theory, they stated can last 8-10 years. But surprisingly not willing to give at least a 4-year warranty, considering the huge upfront price vs a normal MF battery

yea car registered 2023 but I bought it Jan 2024, guess the car has been in stock for sometime already
Luckily both mileage and month use still within warranty coverage

Others i saw usually will need to change right after the warranty period over, like on the 13th or 14th month

Wow 4.5 years that is the quality when Johnson Controls were involved. It will be interesting to see that with the newer lime green battery colour can achieve 4.5 years onot.

Anyway what vehicle ?

Nope not a promoter. Since my father-in-law trusted Century, I just followed on that's all. The previous Century lasted to just 4 years, which surprised the distributor as well. Now on another Century and hopefully it will lasts for another 4 years too.

Speedys3210 reply with Century on Post # 4 should be more or less 4 years, I suspect.

Only after buying a new Century battery, I've read somewhere on this forum that Amaron lasts a cool 7 years. Curious today I walked into Amaron's dealers and the dealer said this after hearing what I've said about 7 years lifespan, "Its hard to say, some couple of months, some its 1-2 years, some its couple of years. Depends on luck."
*
Never really use Century before but their road side service is one of the very best. I respect their support capability.

Honorable mention for good battery based on personal experience is Yokohama,Varta, Panasonic and Amaron for high capacity low budget.
