based on youtuber, many user put it under repair mode for 8-12 hours for flat battery/ old battery to kick it back as a new battery. the CCA rating will restore back closed to new after done repair mode for 8-12 hours. Did the same as maintenance purpose, once a month, by repair mode on both of my cars.

For my main car which has start/stop function, and with ADAS too, so I am quite afraid to remove the battery and have it "REPAIR" using the charger outside.

For my old little Picanto, I will probably try the repair function on the 4.75 year old Amaron battery.

for start/stop it is agreeable to related to the battery, but ADAS is totally not related to the battery, based on my own experience. just remove the battery + and -, wont do anything to the recent car nowadays, even FM station remain intact after remove the cable for charging

Uses b19/b20 /ns40/m42 size right?

my other car is a picanto ja and the battery died exactly 18 months and i went to claim warranty.

Year Make 2014, reg 2015. Picanto TA bought as used for my children back in 2018.

When I got the car, it was already using Amaron 55B24L, so when I did the replacement I just bought the same size back in Mar'2021.

Since you have 2 chargers, can use 1 of them in aux power mode (clamp to connectors/cables) to supply continuous power to car system. Then take the AGM out from vehicle and "restore" with the other charger. Reverse steps when restore is done.

Only Bosch C7 can do 12V aux power mode, not the other foxsur.

But Foxsur not so ideal to do repair mode for the AGM battery tongue.gif

Haiya....

early amarons are really a different level compared to current ones....

b24 seems rather large for this displacement and the engine bay...but since it fits and it served you till now, good for you thumbup.gif

Sometime this topic crossed my mind but I tend to forget to check when my Century battery was installed.

I checked last week and the date written on it with white correction pen was 21/1/2021. It is gong to be 5 years now and still cranking good. I was lazy to find this thread and luckily I came across it just now to inform. laugh.gif

In my opinion, the life of battery related to alternator and also how much your battery gets recharged throughout the day. As you know the wet battery life is at its best when it is in full charge condition.

Probably my distance travel and alternator charging current do match with the battery. Usually I use my car to work just 3 days out of 7 days, i.e Mon, Tue, and Wed. The rest of the day I use other car also to work and weekend. My travel distance from home to work and back home is just over 100km. That probably helps charge the battery.

I usually just bought any battery which I think okay or whichever on offer. No specific brand but this one is the longest service I've had. Others, probably 2~3 years. Never less than 2 years. My other cars also the same 2~ 3 years and the longest one I think around 4 years but could not remember the brand. biggrin.gif
