hi all, is it now the trend of battery will suddenly die (cannot start) within warranty period then when seller take back and recharge they will say the battery is good and install back for you.
twice for astra brand diff car, and heard once from bosch also.
I cannot speak for other battery brands but I can confirm that that is not the trend for Century Battery's established models that's distributed by us. Based on my personal experience battery that failed within the warranty period is usually due to the fault of the owner vehicles and I am happy to inform until this date, I have not forwarded any warranty claims against my Principal Co also.
Issues that I had encountered are
1. Failed charging system upon installing new battery. Inform owner but owner thought I tipu him saying that there will be no battery warranty due to his failed charging system. Owner insisted his charging system is OK despite readings for Charging Tests 12V+ je. Binggung sial
2. Vehicle couldn't start, owner assumed it's battery but battery was still a Good Battery. Later it was discovered that a faulty spark plug was the issue.
3. Broken serpentine belt
4. Improper battery usage
5. Excessive parasitic draw due to modification example a larger infotainment unit, battery baru 6 months but drained until KOSONG !!!
Only there was one occasion where I almost had to made a warranty claim but I had informed my Regional Manager first and seek his opinion while I tried to trouble the shoot the problem. Thank goodness I didn't break the duck for this vehicle, as the vehicle system subsequently corrected itself. Installed new battery had about almost 660 amps at owners place. He went to lunch not to far away. After lunch, the vehicle couldn't start. Went to client just less 2 hours after installing a new battery, the amp had gone down to less than 100 amps. Gila ke apa ? Tu la owner driving modern vehicle, ingat boleh buat apa owner suka macam kereta lama ya ?
Most importantly what I hà ve also learned is NEVER assume that the competitors batteries are of same quality as my Principal Co. Really sial this case. A big client of mine, very nice manager requested me to check his battery, competitor battery. Based on the systems that I use, everything looked alright SoH 100% and inform the manager that the battery is in excellent condition. KNN 45 days later, he calls to inform that the battery had died. I was dumbfounded. Luckily that happened after he arrived home from Singapore. Since then i begin not to trust the quality of competitors batteries. From thereonwards, my Clean Bill of Health notices will be given for my Principal Co batteries only.
