For EFB Q85 its always 700 CCA 70AH anyday. The higher the better.

My preference will be in following order

1. Century
2. Amaron
3. Varta, unless the Varta is made in Germany or Switzerland (dont remember which country is it) then it will be Varta #1, Century #2 etc.

Over time I have learnt that it is not which battery brand lasts the longest, as those with the know how will still be able to achieve good life span out of those quality made batteries.

The primary differentiating factors affecting battery life span are

1. Driver's attitude & knowledge coupled together with
2. A highly efficient electrical charging system.

if you can get higher cca and fit the size get higher cca 1..
for varta Q85 for mazda istop there's 2 type
1) Black Varta (battery case color) - 620cca  code Q85/95D23L
2) Silver Varta (battery case color) - 660cca code Q85/115D23L
both will fit ur cx3.. cx3 tak de diesel kan? diesel battery different type

i had used 2nd unit of varta only my cx5

1) black from mazda SC last me about 3 years SC recommend to change
2) silver installed last year now see how long it will last

if u r going for varta get the silver 1 - 115D..
i have no comment about century and amaron i know amaron only recently years they produce EFB battery.. another brand would be energizer but i have no comment for all these brand as i never use it before

the Century Q85 that I could see is 95D23L like the black Varta Q85,

Yes, the battery cover is meant to protect the battery cells from the extreme engine heat and doing so it will extend the battery's life span. If you dont want it, please let me know and I will gladly take it off you. Thank you very much. 😉

What I would really have liked is that the manufacturer not to lay the negative wiring directly across the battery, it makes battery replacement a hassle and it does not look nice at all. I hope manufacturers will take note of this and place the negative wiring nicely, just like they did with positive wiring. KISS Keep It Short & Simple. Not only that reduces production costs but it is a safety issue as well.

Even the new Civic, the stock battery dies immediately after 1 year ? New car, new battery, obattery life span 1 year ? I have seen batteries in Honda showroom really comel betul. Much smaller sizes compared to other brands.

The current battery sizes for the Civic shows NS40 ~ NS60, bro. Scissorshand better that you follow back that original spec DIN. Your new car must be really special le until battery spec also DIN type. CBU right ?

If you are changing batteries on a yearly basis, something is definately wrong somewhere.

yup many owners had around 1 yr n some below 1 yr. so my 2nd unit was amaron go lasted less than1.5yrs ,3rd was Amaron hi life about 2 yrs also due to mco, and latest was jan this yr with varta

Honda Malaysia plant so generous gave you such a big ass battery ? Unbelievable. You must be extremely special customer le. The battery spec list for Honda is very small only from size NS40 ~ NS60 majority of their models. Very few Honda models uses up to a maximum NS70. So yours must be an extraordinary car until they fit a DIN battery inside.

I just done a battery replacement for Honda City hatchback which kinda look similar to your picture and I don't think a NS60L would fit due to the bottom tray design. So it looks like it's an EFB-M42L for you but its still best to check your GM6 tray because Honda loves changing designs between models.

If possible, try to get a battery cover for the new battery, otherwise you will be wondering why it doesn't last.

I just installed the super capacitor. Everything seems to work fine. Went for a short drive just now to test if everything is working. Will go for a night drive later with more electrical items running. I am more in the camp of do 1 time and forget rather than do the same thing all the time.

Separately what are the odds of amaron hi life din55L bought in 20/8/24 leaked causing the smell to flow into the ac?

Wait a minute, you meant that the battery was bought on 20.2.2024 and recently in about 6 months time after the battery was installed, you had noticed a strange smell in your air-conditioning system ?
