hi there, I suppose u know which country u are serving. GSE position is mainly deal with stuffs that came in from other country, depending on which country u serve and the your specific job scope will be given to you when u join, I cant just tell u which process u are going into, in 1 department, there are plenty of process such as in HSS, there could be hong kong payment team, hong kong settlement team, hong kong reconciliation team, Luxembourg team, UK team and MANY MORE. so it depends on which specific process u are going into.

u will have to ask where is your exact work place, my first interview was at the bursa building and 2nd interview was cyberjaya. and i'm now based in cyberjaya, and very pleased with this, because they provide free transportation from several fixed pick up points, which could simply save me AT LEAST RM500 per month on petrol and toll. so, this is really 1 of the biggest advantage! but i don think they provide transport to the KLC branch.

and Yes, the starting salary would be RM1900 i suppose for a fresh grad who possess a degree. If u can fulfill their minimum requirement or exceed their expectation during your probation period, this is really a good stuff, upon confirmation, the hdpm itself will give u extra 200 and HSS also giving u 200, so it simply means 400 increment upon your confirmation. (provided u can do what they want, Someone from HSBC should correct me if i get this wrong!). Also, they review the permanent staff's salary every 6 months and the increment is purely based on your performance, so u want more money, u simply have to perform better, your salary can be higher than your AMO as a GSE.

Working on shifts are more to call centre but not all the back end process will need to work on shifts, but there are clearly different working hours depending on which country you serve. again, if u serve UK's HSBC, then your working hour will likely to be from 4PM to 1AM during the winter time and 3PM to 12AM during the british summer time. If u are serving HSBC hong kong, then your working hours are likely to be from 9am to 6pm.

Hope that helps, if u wish to know more, u can just pm me, i will try to help whenever possible.

Best of luck!

i doubt u as a GSE will earn more than AMO ..GSE is level 8, AMO is level 7 .. the pay structure is diff. between level.. plus the salary review is now done once a year not once every 6 month..starting pay now might has been slash from ur 1900 to current 1600 .. now economy not so good .. hsbc is the only bank tat refuse help from its country.. so they hire more lower pay people in asia to work for them.. anyway tehoice what do u do in ur floor? data entry ?

ofcourse they migrate from one country to another is mainly because of COST EFFICIENCY, they will have to pay like 10k HKD for the similar work that we r doing? the pay structure is being told by amo and line manager.

data? partly true, we generate cash reports for all related departments on daily basis at least.

well how long has u been in the floor? i thought the salary review has jus been done las month? hence nex review is nex year feb, or march.. well how can a GSE pay be higher than AMO anyway... bonus i believe la.. but monthly salary .. i doubt it.. u r talking level 8 and 7 here.. there is diff. in resposibilities here unless u r doing ur AMO work and ur AMO is jus goyang kaki la.. haha

those who is under processing department will be require to fullfill a % of RPH(rate per hour) on how many cases u can do in an hour.. so typing assessment test make sense.. since if u r doing processing work .. it is a must.. mostly u will type in customer information from application form to data system.. so it mean both number and qwerty.. lor..

economy bad? HSBC is the world largest bank .. even if the economy is bad they prefer to retrench europe or america worker.. the asian market is still going good..as the salary paid here is less as compare to the europe and america counterpart.. hence they will hire more here..more and more of their department is migrating over to asian..

Lol dude, half of my company staff came from HSBC, approximately 150-200.

They were head hunted by my current company. All of them are unsatisfied with HSBC policy and so on.

smile.gif Well I couldn't expose to you what company..
