I guess I'm the only one quite happy using TM's routers. Currently using 1 TP-Link C1200 at ground floor and 2 D-Link DIR-850L to cover first floor. All wired via in-wall LAN cables. Only spent RM 180 for the D-Links (second hand) and CAT5E wall plates/cables/wire stripper. 300++ mbps Wifi is fast enough for me.
Hi, we'll be moving into a new house where the previous owner had cat5e cabling in all rooms / living areas. All these terminate in a store room where he previously put his streamyx modem & a router (I was told by the agent). Your situation sounds similar I would like to install unifi 100mbps plan when I move in. I like the idea of wired connection for computers & was wondering if the cabling can still be used, what additional equipment I need to instal (on top of the stock unifi btu and router) and where to put the various boxes & connections between them.
For example, can I have the BTU and the router in the storeroom and plug in Androx TV box / hotspot modems to wall sockets elsewhere in the house?
Wonder if you can
PS: I found your earlier post in V35. Looks nice
