Same. As long as you're in China all powerbanks need to be CCC certified. Even flying back KUL from Shenzhen also need pass through security, where powerbank they'll check.
So going out of China on international flight also can not. Looks like go to China, buy one inside China. Use and then discard.

Don't have to discard. If you buy reputable powerbanks they should be CCC certified, so it's safe to carry. Only those without CCC certification cannot.

I found, nowadays, Lazada/Shopee stopped delivering powerbank using air courier. Only personal pick up from store.

Try finding an eSIM with a VPN node in Hong Kong. Some only have Singapore nodes, which can slow things down especially if you suddenly use WeChat for ordering.
Overseas distributed visa/mastercard credit card/debit card can be used to just tap on their subway train best to have paywave chip and activated as well

Btw, for those who travel often enough, want to ask, for most situation, any difference between wechatpay and alipay?
my last trip was last year june. we use 100% alipay for payment. i just activated wechat pay... looks like they are offering waiver of fee for international bank card payment, up to RMB1000. seems like wechatpay is a good deal. planning to have both ready. 1 phone use alipay, one phone use wechat pay. but want to ask around here 1st.

For me WeChat superior. Because Wechat can scan and order from their mini apps. Most china restaurants have QR code that you need scan with Wechat to order. Sometime also have promo exclusive only to Wechat.
This is funny. Once you've attached a foreign card, your Alipay will work. There is no need to go through third party just to verify. If all else fails just use your touch n go.

but i saw some american also made videos that they registered alipay/wechatpay, verified it and attached their credit card on it and it doesn't work they even give the shop owner the phone to go at it at the end still pay via cash that's why such services exist for a reason

Alipay is an intermediary. If it doesn't work - it's the card problem. If you really want to test, just buy something from Taobao.
