Hi may i check, i have turned the default wifi 6 router provided by Time into bridge mode and currently using my mesh wifi as router, which mean the default modem wifi router provided by TIME is only used as modem, however, i noticed I'm unable to turn off the wifi feature, is there anyway to turn it off so that it won't overlapped with my mesh wifi?
*
Hi, if you have successfully (fully) turned it to bridge mode, the wifi should be off.
You can login to manually turn it off.

Thanks.

Very likely due to bad connector (the connector that plugs in to your ONT). My parents house had the same problem last week. And this week, me too having the same problem. We did not touch anything or disturb the ONT all this while (just leave it on the table) but the connector just went bad for no reason. The technician from TIME told me apparently they have this bad quality connector and many customers face the same issue. The problem went away after they replaced the connector.

When first installation the TIME technician did inform my connector (that come with new condo itself) is broken, charge me RM35 for a new one.
Say it is common issue that connector is not good.

May I know how to reach TIME customer service to request enable bridge mode?
App live chat, or there's contact number?

Just to share the experience last time when first installed.

After request installer to use my own router, the installer called to centre to turn the free modem router given as bridge mode.
But wifi from the given bridged mode modem still broadcast the wifi, need to log into the modem using the wifi to turn it off.

Strange is, change the modem/router as bridged mode is not automatically off its wifi. Don't know it is bug or not.

Yes, the pushed in bridge mode settings ought to have wifi turned off by right, unfortunately nope, kinda buggy & causing inconvenience to customers.

Hi guys!

Big noob q here. I have 2 of these currently.

Router ASUS Wireless-AC1200 Dual Band: https://www.asus.com/my/networking-iot-serv...ters/rt-ac1200/
Modem HUAWEI EchoLife HG8240H: https://www.batna24.com/en/p/huawei-hg8240h-ont-rmmkj

Am currently on TIME, on a diff owner account. Debating if I should just get them to convert/transfer ownership to me, or get a new account (24-month contract tho..) to enjoy new router/modem/mesh. I believe I'm currently on 500mbps as well. I'm very inexperienced with anything to do with connectivity.

Question:

1. Is the current modem+router I have enough to support 500Mbps or 1Gbps? If not, what's a decently priced solution for this? Or should I just go for a new contract to get new stuffs?
2. If I do just transfer ownership, and I do opt for 1Gbps, will I have to do any manual installation or whatever? Not sure if I'm IT-savvy enough to do this. unker dah.

Thanks in advance ya fellow lyns.

Edit: Double checked--am on 1Gbps, but still feel slow AF when downloading. Phone currently charged at RM10 per month, with a phone that doesn't even work unsure.gif

TIME was previously installed in my house by previous owner. The network cables are in a manhole underground inside my house. These cables are oozing a very strong smell. I can even smell it when wearing a mask. Does TIME has an installer to fix the cabling issue?

Any idea how to increase wifi speed? I recently upgrade to 300 mbps. TIME provided huawei edge mesh but not good. Thinking of buying a mesh.

Hi, this is a way too low the speed.

Try perform a LAN cable test. If OK, then connect wifi to 5GHz to perform another speedtest.
Btw, which router are you on ?

You mean the square Huawei small box WA8021V5 ? If so, then you better buy your own mesh system cuz those are crap !

Hi, are you staying in a landed property ? You can try talk to the Installer & negotiate a deal with them, do note that it's a chargeable job. Alternatively, you could hire network professionals to provide a more promising service on this matter.

Fibre Modem (ONU) Yes it can support 1 Gbps but it's advisable to upgrade the Asus Router.

2. If I do just transfer ownership, and I do opt for 1Gbps, will I have to do any manual installation or whatever? Not sure if I'm IT-savvy enough to do this. unker dah.
Just get yourself a decent Router (WiFi6) Eg. Asus AX55 & above), configure the PPPOE into the new router. It's much simpler that you could have think of.

Thanks in advance ya fellow lyns.
