Anyone using pi-hole and ads are blocked successfully with Huawei HG8145V5 router?

Previously using Unifi and it was working correctly, after changing to Time, even though pointing my phone/devices dns server to pi-hole ip address but none of the ads are being blocked.
Please request from our CS to switch the DNS to Google's or whichever you preferred.

Also facing some laggy issues streaming tea tv movies, 30Mbps Unifi to 100Mbps Time macam no difference, pls help to advise? Thanks
Not at our end so far.

On a side note, tvbox chrome browser speedtest.net gives about 25Mbps but downloading the speedtest.net app shows 90Mbps, really puzzled.
Please try on different browser, and temp turn off any backend resources consuming services.

thanks all for the reply. I called CS to switch to bridge mode and use Asus RT-AC1200GU router and Pi-Hole, 2.4GHz laggy with WhatsApp video call, but 5GHz is smooth and getting around 100Mbps. TeaTV on tvbox and phone still laggy sigh

Hi,
I just subscribed TIME 500mbps package that comes with Huawei HV8145V5 modem and router WA8021V5. I would like to setup and use TP Link Deco E4R + M3W for mesh due to my house layout.

Tried to setup by connecting the Deco E4R to huawei router in access point mode (doesn't work in router mode) however the speed is throttled down to only 90mbps. Called TIME CS on this and they advise same setup but speed was only 90mbps.

Appreciate for any advise or help to setup Deco for full house coverage. Thanks.

Aren't those 100mbps ports? if they are not gigabit then you are limited to 90-100mbps.

hi guys i have this problem idk if its memang like that or its a 'problem'..

regarding ipv6, i notice that if i want to have ipv6 i need to restart the router every like half-day to 1 day or so.. because the ipv6 will be gone every time after that period. sometimes it is as fast as half a day sometimes after 1 day the ipv6 no more..

this is what i mean:

as you can see in the SS, under the ipv6 section, there is no router ipv6 address and no assigned prefix..

but only once i restart the router i will get it back:

included my ipv6 settings in the router in case i did something wrong:

Hi, yes this is a known problem for this router as it is encapsulating ipv6 packets within ipv4 tunnels. Do go for a ipv6 native supported router like Asus.

Thanks.

Hi, probably you need to increase your budget. As within yours, you can go for Huawei AX3 Pro x2 units.

Thanks.

Hi all, currently I am using 500mbps plan, d-link 882 rounter by Time.
would like to check if their own firmware support 160mhz channel?
Because i intend to upgrade my laptop wifi card to Intel 9260 AC, but not sure whether custom firmware support this high speed beast or not

Messaged TIME CS via live chat. They said the technician needs to come over to configure the DNS.

Scheduled mine for a visit next week. Will update later

I'm currently using the WiFi Router by Time, I think its called Archer C1200. This router is in the hall, quite central for a 1.3k sqft condo.

My room at the corner can only get around 60 to 80 mbps... my TIME is on the 300mbps. I can get that when I stand next to or close to my router.

Should I get a repeater ie the re305 or re505x .... or get another router like the AX72/73?

BTW, TIME suppose to come to my house to give me a new Huawei device since the promotion of upgrade from 100mbps to 300mbps. Maybe I should wait and see if that Huawei device can do the job as a repeater and get close to 300mbps in my room.

I am currently on Maxis plan (300mbps) and on unifi infra. The cable was pulled by TM direct to my condo. Is there a need to pull fresh cable if i want to migrate to Time?

I am using a 500mpbs plan but my speedtest only comes up to 200mbps using wifi. I tried using a phone and a computer and they get the same results. I am using the modem and router provided by TIME ( Archer C1200). Is this normal?
