first day using time.. had a strange issue where while I was working with my colleague the Webex screen sharing suddenly disconnected, and one of my work apps also disconnected.

Didn't have this issue with unifi before. What should I do? contact Time?

For browsing I notice some websites suddenly end up keep spinning (white page) and take a longer while to load. Doesn't happen often, maybe once a while.. anyone experience this before?

haih wish I can switch DNS on my company laptop, but it seems to be protected by an admin password.
on my personal computer and TV everything seem to run smoothly - youtube, download etc.

I have contacted TIME via chat, they say need to escalate to technical team.

My Webex, SAP also affected. Heck when I chatting with the support person on and off can get "reconnecting" also.. damn.

After further testing, found out is the wifi on the new Huawei HG8145V5 giving issues. Anyone having this problem? It is affecting all my devices with intermittent drops. (my LG washing machine keep disconnect from Wifi, and my son's zoom tuition classes kept disconnecting every 10-15 mins, then my work laptop also).

Anyone have similar issues using this new wifi router modem from TIME? Planning to get my own TP Link Wifi router if this continues. The TIME technical team told me they can configure the device to act as modem only.. but sigh dunno when they free to help me zzz.

Of course would prefer much if they can replace the HG8145V5 with another branded model, or a new same device for me to test again. So far experience with the support team is that they are slow in helping me doh.gif

If I know so much problems after change, would rather just stick to unifi.

For this you need to make Helpdesk log a ticket to technical team and let them help u. They need to do something at the backend in the modem to allow it to become modem only. Can’t do it ourselves.

Helpdesk might keep deny say u need settle all of it yourself but it is actually BS. Just sounded them in my call just now. Now waiting for TIME level 2/3 person to call me and help me tomorrow.

Yea I tried going into the modem using my cable but no longer have access. Anything after this need their technical team to help. As usual call their Helpdesk first for them to escalate. What I don’t like is we don’t have direct access to the tech team.

yea so many things locked from us.. I got raise this concern to the tech guy by the name of SK.
and only their tech team can help.. others in helpdesk either give wrong info or just taichi to tech team.
when I was using hg8245v5 as wifi router I realized I cant change the default dns directly in config page also. SK told me must ask tech team to change if really want to.

if tech team busy, good luck u might need to wait 1-2 days for them to get back to you.

few days ago bought AX50 TP-link wifi router, after config yesterday only started using it with TIME fiber. This is what I call a wifi router, as until now not a single connection break while working from home. Worth the one time investment. The wifi router has 3 years warranty too thumbup.gif

if anyone got issues using hg8245v5 please invest in your own wifi router (or mesh systems)... even unifi won't give you a good wifi router no matter what package you pick (unless add $$ for monthly commitment which is not worth it). The IT shop dude explained to me cheap wifi routers have poor memory, RAM, processor etc.. if your home got many devices then expect it to drop often or disconnect. Sometimes with even few devices connect, but coz they surf heavy enough to affect the wifi connection already. The hardware on a cheap wifi router has a lower limit.

Helpdesk wont know, need their 2nd level team (tech team) to help.

You need to put the cable into port 1 of the huawei modem, and the other end to the WAN port of the AX50 which is blue.

Then important part is set the connection as PPOE at tp link page, with TIME username password which is found in your first email after subscribe the broadband.

If still cannot call Helpdesk to log a ticket to tech team to help u check further. Their Helpdesk troubleshooting skills is very low so best check with the experts.

I got this modem router when sign up for TIME last month. Be warn.. it is very sucky. Its WiFi keep disconnect for all my devices when using this. It is on and off less than a second. You will really feel it if working from home.

Yes I was using the provided Huawei all in one modem router and had same issue. Best get your own wifi router. Then call customer service to ask them set for u. The huawei thing need to be changed to modem only mode before u can start using your own wifi router.

Need their tech team to help u configure huawei shit to modem only. We don't have access to do it bro.
Oh also remind them to switch off the wifi on the huawei thing when they on call with u. Last time they help me configure didn't switch its wifi off.

Chat with them on website faster. Btw their customer support won't know how de, neeed escalate to second level team.

Time down again at my area Geo Bukit Rimau condo.
Why is your service so inconsistent? This is the 5th time down since I sign up for your package in December 2020. When I moved into my condo using Unfi, not a single down time I tell you!!! for an entire year!!! BUT WHY TIME KEEP DOWN?? mad.gif bangwall.gif

It's just too many times already, no compensation or warning each time just shut off my internet like this.

I'm working from home due to Covid hence relying on the internet a lot. Stupid support also always not enough people to pick up phone divert my calls to admin assistant. Then when wanna chat keep push me to a bot when want to discuss about all these down times.

PLEASE IMPROVE YOUR DAMN SERVICE RATHER THAN FOCUS ON GETTING MORE CUSTOMERS ONLY!!! vmad.gif ranting.gif

yes, my condo has Telegram group and Time subscribers there not happy also. They just came in at December 2020 and all these downtimes happened. Is like their infra not able to support the number of users.

See their marketing so aggressive but they fail to pay attention to existing users.

I would pick unifi any other day, a bit more expensive but worth it due to almost no downtime. Now under contract d for 1 year so no choice. Not sure port still available at my place or not when I wanna switch back.. Haihhhh all the unnecessary inconveniences!!! doh.gif

Did mine last time when I bought my TP Link Router. Their Huawei as router really sucks.

Also remember to ask them to switch off the wifi in that Huawei modem. Mine till not not yet switch off coz of this.. need to call them again to do it.

Last time my router keep orange light after change DNS then became green.

If still can't best talk to their tech team make sure configured the modem properly. Maybe modem there they didn't set properly to bridge mode.
