What's the latest recommendation if I want to replace the old default modem/router from Time with one that has better range. Right now it can't even reach the bedroom from the living room even though it's only 6 meters away (with a wall and built in wardrobe in between).

QUOTE(ChenKaiWen @ Feb 11 2025, 02:40 PM) Yes. I requested CS for the change to Bridge mode via Live Chat. They did it very quickly and asked me to reboot the TIME router. However, the new router failed to setup and when I login to TIME router, I could still see WAN Mode is "Route WAN" instead of "Bridge WAN" and the Wifi SSID was also left enabled... I contacted CS again and asked them to verify whether it has been changed to Bridge mode, they confirmed it has been changed and reminded me to plug into LAN 1 of the TIME router. I screenshot the WAN Mode and asked why it is not showing "Bridge WAN". After a while, they just asked me to leave contact number for them to call back instead... After live chat changed bridge mode, you shouldn’t be able to connect to internet using the huawei unit. Connect WAN of your own router to LAN 1 of the huawei. Set up PPPoe username and password, which can be obtained in the TIME app. No VLAN required. It should work just like that. In the end, I came across this post https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...#entry110590642 and followed the instructions there only then managed to setup bridge mode successfully. Credits to the member for giving such details instruction |

I currently is 200Mbps which is RM104.94 after tax. The renew will stick to 24 months right? |

QUOTE(diehard1979 @ Mar 11 2025, 03:02 PM) Is it worth to renew plan with offer RM10 off x 12 months? if u are using the plan all the time, and unlikely u move house or to terminate it earlier than contract end date, no harm to take it to save cost.I currently is 200Mbps which is RM104.94 after tax. The renew will stick to 24 months right? i also want to switch to the 200Mbps to save my monthly fibre broadband cost. rm104.94 and 200Mbps is more than sufficient. but i dun want to renew contract becos i am renting apartment, so better to keep contract free. i still have 9 more months to go to complete my contract. now renew contract or sign up new line, the termination fee is no longer rm500 also, it will be remaining months x monthly subscription to pay. same as unifi etc. like that one might as well not cancelling since no difference. |

Hi, do request the CS to reply you with a black & white stating the renewal contract period.I currently is 200Mbps which is RM104.94 after tax. The renew will stick to 24 months right? As there 2 options, one is 12-months & the other 24-months. Thanks. |

Hi, I'm currently using Maxis HomeFibre RM129 (100Mbps). If I switch to TIME Fibre, will I need to reinstall the fibre cable, or can I use the existing one? FYI, I'm staying at landed property, the fibre cable was done by TM contractor.

FYI, I'm staying at landed property, the fibre cable was done by TM contractor. For landed properties, like your case you mentioned it was done by TM contractor, I assume it is NOT prelaid type, meaning initially your house does not have the fiber prelaid when the developer handed over to you, and when you subscribed for Unifi, then only TM contractor pulled in for you.In this case, you can either choose to have the Time cable joined to your existing fiber (in a FTB) at your backdoor or front yard (depends where the cable coming from), this way minimize the recabling hassle inside your house. The drawback of this is in the future if you decided to switch back to Maxis/Unifi, recabling has to be done again. Another method is leave the existing cable as it is, then have Time SI to pull in their own cable, the drawback of this is there might be some hassle of cable pulling. Thanks. QUOTE(leezhijiang @ Mar 12 2025, 09:04 PM) ![]() It seems TIME will be sunsetting Voice app soon. Now we can only use the POTS port in ONU for that. Which means we will not be able to use our own SIP phone for that. |

Thanks for your response. I’d prefer not to redo the cabling as it’s a hassle. I’ll stick with Maxis but will sign up for a more affordable 24-month contract while keeping the same speed. In this case, you can either choose to have the Time cable joined to your existing fiber (in a FTB) at your backdoor or front yard (depends where the cable coming from), this way minimize the recabling hassle inside your house. High probability can use back any existing cabling. It will depend on the setup done at the Fibre Distribution Point (FDP). This will be outside your home. Will PM you! |

QUOTE(ZTAP @ Mar 7 2025, 11:54 PM) Dear sifus, im planning to sign up TIME and found out that i have an option to add on a mesh node with Huawei HG8145B7N, any idea if this is a good choice or I should purchase mesh myself, something like Deco X50 ? If i'm looking for a better coverage and perhaps a stable speed. FYI i'm currently using a TP Link EX511 EasyMesh router, with 500mbps plan i'm only getting like max 100mbps in my room. Thanks ! Have you signed up? How far is the router to your room? If not too far, and using a really solid router and mesh system, you should be able to get 500Mbps. If you're in a typical condo layout, less than 1,200 sqft, should be able to get. But if it's double storey terrace, then might be tough. But definitely more than 100Mbps on the TP-Link Deco X50. |

Not yet signed up. My house is a condo with 900 sqft and my room is roughly 7 to 8 meter away from my router, perhaps self buying a mesh system will be better if comparing with the one provided by TIME? |

Oh, sounds very good then. If 7~8 meters away and size only 900 sqft, with the Huawei WiFi 7 mesh (HG-8145), should be able to get at least 400Mbps++ direct from router! Don't think you actually need a mesh oh.Any, PM-ed you. |
