QUOTE(dino89 @ Apr 7 2021, 08:29 PM) Hi sifus, Try this though YMMV. Tell TM you got your Mesh wifi from them. And that you want to use HyppTV but you also want to use the single free port for LAN. Hopefully they'll reconfigure HyppTV to one of the ports on the modem.Want to ask i just installed TP Link X20 for my unifi, unfortunately realised that the unit only has 2 ports which one is taken by modem and the other taken by the HyppTV. I want to ask any way to set the HyppTV port to be able to use with other devices? Eg Android TV Box? Also any way to "force" devices to always stick to the 5ghz band instead of jumping between 2.4 and 5? Thanks Just say TPLink Deco Mesh wifi if they ask you what model it is. You may have to lie or make dunno if they insist on the model of the mesh. My auntie has the M4 which I bought for her, not from TM. This is what we did to get TM to reconfigure vlan600 to come out through the modem. |

blacktubi, do you have other recommendation for Asus AX routers based on my requirement? Besides AX86u. Is it still a wise idea to get AC routers in 2021?

I'm using the unifi300 supplied dir-842 router and wishes to improve the 5G signal strength. Should i:
A) Replace router with AX73 B) Replace router with backhaul capable mesh kit C) Add wifi extender (like dra-2060) to existing router D) Go broke and get Asus ax86u If B, which model is recommended? Budget < rm600 For 2 storey 2200sqft haus. Thanks. This post has been edited by overfloe: Apr 8 2021, 08:08 PM |

TUF-AX3000 and RT-AX82U are only slightly better than the RT-AX3000 in terms of performance. The RT-AX3000 is a great product but my main concern is still regarding IoT on 2.4Ghz. No harm to try the RT-AX3000 and see if it works well for your situation. |

I will probably choose AC86u then, I saw it is less than RM 500 on Shopee. The RT-AX3000 is a great product but my main concern is still regarding IoT on 2.4Ghz. Q3: How do I set up a OneMesh™ network for different types of devices?
A3: You can use a OneMesh™ Wireless Router or Modem Router with several sets of Range Extenders or Powerline Adapters to create a OneMesh™ network. Be aware, you cannot create a OneMesh™ network between two routers. Q5: Can two OneMesh™ routers build a Mesh network? A5: No. The OneMesh™ router can only be combined with OneMesh™ RE or OneMesh™ PLC to build Mesh networks. https://www.tp-link.com/my/onemesh/router/ so only Deco be able to Mesh between 2 router. |

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Apr 7 2021, 01:36 PM) However, the main reason why I recommend this model is due to the class-leading 2.4Ghz signal on the RT-AC86U. I still find this router perform most reliably when dealing with IoT devices. It's good that you mention the 2.4GHz signal on the RT-AC86U. I often see router reviews emphasize on 5GHz performance. Are there any routers which have class leading performance for both 2.4 and 5GHz? |

Planning to get TUF AX3000 for my house. 900sq ft unit, master bedroom(at the end of living hall) has bad wifi signal. I have LAN Cable connected to Bedroom 3 just next to living hall where I put my Main Router and Modem. My plan is 300mbps unifi, so far using AC1200 by TM lol cos I bought a faulty TP LINK AX5400 from Mono and threw the box lol. The RT-AX3000 is a great product but my main concern is still regarding IoT on 2.4Ghz. No harm to try the RT-AX3000 and see if it works well for your situation. U think TUF AX3000(living hall) AiMesh + Asus AX55(Bedroom 3) would be good ? I need good wifi signal in Master bedroom |

Some developers delivered property with non-functioning LAN port or it got damaged during reno . |

Any idea why I can’t connect to Internet using new router TUF AX3000. Login via PPPOE
Currently using AC1200 as main router and AX3000 as AP This post has been edited by pokeat: Apr 12 2021, 06:55 PM |
