I'm using the unifi300 supplied dir-842 router and wishes to improve the 5G signal strength. Should i:
A) Replace router with AX73
B) Replace router with backhaul capable mesh kit
C) Add wifi extender (like dra-2060) to existing router
D) Go broke and get Asus ax86u

If B, which model is recommended?

Budget < rm600
For 2 storey 2200sqft haus.

It all depends on your house layout, device setup and router placement. Try to place the router at the most centre location with minimal obstruction.

For HyppTV:

If purely wifi, you can just get one powerful router and be done with it. Example: ax86u

But if you need LAN, maybe something like dedicated mesh setup like the asus XT8.

Maybe sifus can chip in ideas as well.

Based on your previous post, you are having prob on 2.4G. Most likely this band is overcrowded in your housing area. You will need setup that has good 5G coverage.

My dir842 on 300mbps had the same prob (low bandwidth on 2.4). After I changed to ac86u, the range is only slightly better but is not improved. This is because the 2.4g is very overcrowded in my area. However, on 5G, I can get > 200mbps sometimes very close to 300mbps deoending on the device location and has better range for 5G. Now i let 2.4G exclusively for IoT devices and use 5G for all other devices.
