Hi, I just recently switched to AX3000 router and once a while, the internet speed dropped till 2mbps for 2.4GHz wifi but 5Ghz is good, getting close to 100mbps. It also means my internet speed is good.
When the internet speed drops, the wifi signal is actually still good and I need to hard reset the router to get it recover.
I have disabled the smart connect and not using wifi6 option. Using the latest firmware now.
Is anyone having the same problem?

If my house is not interfered with any other 5ghz WiFi, which channel should I use? Or should I leave it as Auto as well?

Would to ask I currently have Asus rt ac68u. What would be my options to setup a mesh WiFi? I am on Unifi 500.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but would anyone here be so kind as to enlighten what's the big difference between the following AP (besides the obvious WiFi 5 vs WiFi 6):
- Ruckus R320 (WiFi 5 yet so much more exp) - Asus AX3000 (WiFi 6 yet cheaper)
I'm asking because recently got a used Ruckus R320 (yet to set up) and not sure if AX3000 would be a worthwhile upgrade?
It'd be shared with 2 households worth of devices btw...

The RT-AX3000 will only be faster at close distance due to WiFi 6. But, an AP like this is designed to be ceiling-mounted. If you just put it on a surface, the performance will be reduced. However, bear in mind the R320 is just an AP unless you have the unleashed version. You'll still need another router as the DHCP server and etc.

Appreciate it much! Would it suffice to say that the R320 would definitely outperform the RT-AX3000 despite the rates for R320 is 867Mbps(ac) while the RT-AX3000 has got 1734Mbps (ac)/2402Mbps (ax) or it's to say R320 has better stability & coverage while the RT-AX3000 has better speed/performance? Then again these consumer gaming types probably have their specification hyped up a fair bit?

Tried searching thread history but couldn't find any related post. Anyone currently uses Huawei's AX3 Pro? Pro version macam only available in China but I saw shopee/ lazada selling 'global' version, even Huawei Malaysia don't have them..
I'm asking because I am keen to get one. I'm on Unifi 300 with stock router, living in a double storey house. I plan to replace to Unifi's router into a good one and paired with two wall mounted wifi repeater to maintain signal strength and speed around the house..
Or is there any suggestion? Aside from upgrading to a better router + two repeaters.

Then again these consumer gaming types probably have their specification hyped up a fair bit? High-end enterprise grade APs have superior radio circuitry which will result in better interference mitigation. And, they can handle a greater number of clients. But, as I said, the installation part is important as they are designed to be ceiling mounted. The RT-AX3000 is rated up to 1733Mbps on AC due to the 4T4R design. However, most AC clients on the market are 2T2R which is capped at 867Mbps.

Hi all Sifu, Need recommendation for current setup. Current setup: 1. Just subscribe Time 500mbps. 2. Time provided Huawei HG8145V5 which in ONU+router (Wifi signal n coverage ok but speed a bit low)(small house). 3. Tenda AC15 (4 years old) as my main router. Bridge from Huawei HG8145V5 (which i switch off the Wlan). Any setting in Huawei and Tenda router to optimizing the performance? 4. Speedtest above 300mbps d/l and u/l.
Is that ok for current setup? what should i tweak to squice out more juice?
Any 2 in 1 (ONU+router) that can perform stable and top speed 500mbps? Or separate is good? AX Wifi 6 is a good option for upgrading?
Thank in advance. kamsiah Sorry for poor english

Actually not too bad it's just that the 5g is a bit weak on certain spots in 2nd floor Q1 : how much are you willing to spend? maybe about rm 400-500 maxQ2 : what is your target - WIFI 6? or WIFI 5 is okay? wifi 6 if within budget otherwise wifi 5 would also fine. But if i mesh it with ac68u which doesn't have wifi 6, would it work too? sorry kinda new to this mesh wifi thing.Q3 : how big is your house, and why do you want to opt for mesh? normal 2 storey terrace house. To increase coverage and speed mostly. thanks.

QUOTE(EpsilonStar @ Jan 6 2021, 09:03 AM) I don't have any experience with mesh networks, I'm using an AC68U with an AC66u & a Mi-mini as AP's with ethernet backhaul. You can buy an Asus AX router and use your AC68U as a node. Running ethernet between the 2 will give you more wireless bandwidth as you're not using the WiFi for backhaul. I see promotion of mesh systems as more a marketing tactic, it does have some advantages to simplify set-up.

So you mean that if i have network cable to 2nd floor from my 68u down stairs, just adding a wired access point at 2nd floor would work better? No compromise to the wifi speed right? Both can set the same SSID so i can go up and down and my mobile can seamlessly switch between them?
