im not sure where to ask but lately everytime i connect to the 5ghz wifi the whole internet disconnects... i tested with a different router and i get the same problem...

Hey there, would really appreciate it if someone can help me with my weak WiFi issue. I’m subscribed to Time 100mbps package and using the stock router provided (TP-Link EC230) located at the living room. For reference I’m staying in a 1008sqft condo. The WiFi signal is really bad in the second (PC gaming room and will need to connect to LAN) and third room (weakest) and I suppose it’s because of the walls between the router and the rooms.

I’m not sure if I should get a mesh WiFi or just upgrade my router? Ookas suggested to get a 2pack E4. Any suggestions would be a great help as I’m not well-versed in this! Thank you.

I am currently using unifi given wifi router. I felt a slowness occurring and these unifi techies kept delaying the replacement until my router warranty expired. The issue occurred during the 1st MCO where I noticed the connection isn't stable especially the wifi. Wifi signal gets disconnected intermittently. When watching youtube via mobile, sometimes it stops and it goes to mobile connection and then back to wifi.

When I used my LAN via PC, i noticed there is a slowdown. It doesn't have massive disconnection like my wifi but it doesn't feel stable when i play games or stream. It could be router issue or bandwith overused. I needed to get bandwith limiter via router because sometimes, they may be surfing those youtube or video at HD. It caused a huge lantecy. When using speedtest, it is ok but when playing games, it isn't. I can feel the difference compared to last time. Speedtest is showing good connection locally.

I am not sure if those gaming router will work wonders or not for the gaming latency. I need advice on what to get or a list of recommended routers.

Hey guys, for the upcoming 12.12 I've been told AX20 & AX50 have almost similar price around RM250, I currently doesn't have any devices have Intel AX200 that supports 160MHz. But since the price is similar, do you still recommend me to buy AX50?  Is it AX50 only work best for devices that have Intel AX200 and if I doesn't own one, AX20 is a better option to buy even though both of the router cost the same price?

the ports installed are all cat6, have tested connecting the switch to router via 5e cable, no avail. still running direct from router seems to solve the issue.

what is the ip to connect to the interface? it is a DGS-108.

would still need to get a better router for wifi coverage, a lot of dead spots near the rooms. just thinking if using a switch can solve this, then can get the AX-86U instead.

Hi All, IT dummy here. I would like to seek suggestion on good performance router:

House type: Landed
Size of house: 2080 Square feet & 2 and a half floors
Features required: I just want to stream 4k videos, be it on Youtube or Astro on my TV at ground and 2nd floor
Number of devices connected to WiFi: 7-8
Internet Speed:
Currently 100mbps unifi plan, tested via LAN cable (1st floor) and is able to get ~120mbps download speed (via fast.com). However, WiFi via mobile can only get ~7 mbps downstairs (ground floor). WiFi signal is normally full or next to full bar. Checked WiFi channel and there's no obvious overlap of WiFi frequency (on 2.4GHz)

Budget: RM 300 - RM 500

Hi, I just recently switched to AX3000 router and once a while, the internet speed dropped till 2mbps for 2.4GHz wifi but 5Ghz is good, getting close to 100mbps. It also means my internet speed is good.

When the internet speed drops, the wifi signal is actually still good and I need to hard reset the router to get it recover.

I have disabled the smart connect and not using wifi6 option. Using the latest firmware now.

Is anyone having the same problem?

If my house is not interfered with any other 5ghz WiFi, which channel should I use? Or should I leave it as Auto as well?

I changed my 3 APs to TP-Link Decos not for outright speed, but for fast Wifi roaming. You're always connected to the closest AP no matter where you are, and it's seamless & fast that you don't realize it happens. I can bring my laptop upstairs during Teams meeting, and my meeting/office VPN is not disrupted at all.

Need recommendation for upgrade, just installed unifi 30mbps.
Surprised it came with 2in1 Modern+Router.

Any affordable upgrade to be considered? Im fine with even separating modem and router apart. Possible to have it done within RM400?
