Yeah... the cost is a bit high... my ortho quoted me RM6.5K...

I cudnt say pain, but the tight feeling... yes, it is normal... usually for me the tightness feeling last 3-4 days only... sometimes it feels so tight the moment i left clinic after monthly appointment... sometimes the tightness feeling came 2-3 days after that... once a while, one of those teeth feel a bit pain especially during chewing food... but 2-3 days after that, the pain is gone... it doesnt cause me major pain at all... so far so good... but few days after braces is installed, i developed mouth ulcer... i think most of us face the ulcer prob at the beginning... but after applying ulcer cream and put dental wax on poking wire, ur inside mouth will "immune" and gets tougher to the brackets and ulcer problem wud definitely gone...

Ahahahhaha... im getting expert nowadays Nikki... know what, after next week it will be my 3 months with braces on

Nikki is right... dental kit will be part of ur life now... my bf did send me a 2 bouquet of flower and one of it together with a lovely pocket mirror as for braces gift... he is so sweet

My bracket loose 2 times before i had my bite-stopper... according to the ortho, bracket loose and broken wire are 2 common cases... but exactly after doc put the bite-stopper, i dont face any loose bracket anymore... thats why i said i love my bite-stopper... hehehhe... thank you Nikki

I totally agree with on that...hahaha... i love my braces too. I spent more time looking at myself in the mirror now, checcking my teeth, my smile, the alignement and all...ehehehe...self-obsessed.

After having braces, many people told me that they feel like having it too. And 2 of my bf's friends said they love looking at girls with braces. So cute right?

It's even cuter when you whistle sometimes when u speak...hehehe... But now i dont whistle anymore...hahahha...

Haha...yeah I've always been taking pictures so that I can compare the difference later...

My next appointment would be at 2 months later...

Hey everyone, been visiting this thread pretty often, really helpful tho! Just wondering whether i could ask you guys whats that price range for Inovation Ceramic? Cause i went to a few places in Subang and they quote me bout 8k? isnt it way too expensive??

I got my Inovation Ceramic at How's orthodondics on Oct 08 at 6k. That excluding x-ray, moulding, extraction and medications.
But just 2 months later, White tulip got hers from the same clinic at 6.5k. I guess the price increased? Why not u try calling How's orthodontic and see how much is it now? How's orthodontic - 03-2284 5529

U can try to ask ur nurse about it... usually orthodontic clinics sell those thing... otherwise, u can get it from other ortho clinic, or pharmacy... im sure they sell it...

Bite stopper? Urmmm... ur ortho will check ur teeth whether they touch ur bracket when u clench ur teeth especially during bed time... if they touch, then ur ortho will glue small bite stopper at upper jaw... it creates space between upper n lower jaw... so that teeth from both jaws wont touch each other... once bite stoppers are installed, u will find it hard to eat because of the gap created by the bite stopper... but somehow i love bite stopper... i wont worry about loosen my brackets... and since the bite stopper is hard, i can simply bite food with it... hahhaha...

Hrmmm... if im not mistaken, i installed my braces a month after u... or 2? cant remember... i did it somewhere 20+ of Nov 08... but i still remember Ronnie asked u, why u got urs 6K but he did about the same month with u, he got RM6.5K... i dont know how Dr How quoted that one...

But In-Ovation Type C (ceramic) is 8K is way too expensive... mizzglamour, maybe u can try the other ortho...

oh i see.. I went to pharmacies but they dont sell it ler.. Think i need to go back to my ortho clinic then... I found one little wire loose out from my bracket and I duno wut is that... I guess i need to see my doc again...

My next appt will be on coming Tuesday to do my second extraction. Cant wait to see my teeth moving to better improvements.

Regarding about how they quote? I also not sure... Maybe my condition is too challenging and doctor decided to give me discount so that he can 'experiment' on me?

I think i suffer the same thing too. Look like a tiny ulcer or irritated skin in your mouth surface that is near to ur brackets?
I have the same thing too. I realize i had it since my lower jaw slowly moved to aligned. Cos i havent extract my lower jaw. My lower jaw are more or less aligned now eventhough not enough space. It so cos my lower teeth were being pushed outwards to be aligned. Once extraction been done, everything will be push inward again. By then, i guess wont have that kind of problem anymore.

My extraction for lower jaw is tomorrow...

I'm putting In-ovation ceramic at How's next Monday Managed to ask for lil discount heh but the total bill still comes up to 7k inc everything. Just wondering for those whos having the same braces as me, whether can ya'll eat right after that?? Im so concern cause im underweight

Yes, u can eat right after putting ur braces... tho u might be feeling a bit uncomfortable bcoz u will feel ur mouth is full of brackets... u can try to eat soft foods... tofu soup, mashed potato etc... or drink something that can full ur stomach... for few weeks u might lose ur weight due to soft food diet... but i believe theres lotsa "unhealthy" yet soft food out there for u to gain ur weight e.g. choc, full cream milk, soft drinks, ice cream, rice, pasta etc... i still remember my trainer at gym said that, for underweight ppl, just eat everything, n dont control... so its bonus point for u to eat things which many ppl avoid in order to maintain or gain ur weight... just make sure to clean and brush ur teeth after that...

However, as soon as u feel comfortable with ur braces, u can eat almost everything... burger, pizza, fried chicken etc... its hard to bite directly as ur bracket might loose or wire broke, but u can cut it into small chunk n chew slowly...

Haha im underweight too... ppl always concern bout my weight after knowing that im putting on braces.. Im kinda worried too but now.. arghh who cares la I juz wan to hv nice teeth.. Anyway..it's not tat scary as what ppl told lor..pain is bearable and now i dun feel anything also leh.. can eat summore.. So dun worry k?
