Hey Nikki, maybe its just my mind, when I keep thinking of how I have those stitches in my mouth and the screw is so bothering ! I have the extraction and screw on the same side, so I can't pinpoint which one is giving me the swelling. I must admit yesterday's process wasn't painful and even until the anaesthetic wore off.

However, I just dont know how to go through that again, extract 2 on my left side & insert 3 screws. Its like a tougher battle you know! And I have to do this by late feb because then my uni starts. So dilemma. I dont think I can do my next extraction in 2 weeks time cry.gif :' Even now when I swallow food, I can feel a lil bit of pain near my throat, where the wisdom was extracted.

Heh I'm trying hard to keep up with good oral hygiene but I'm so afraid to brush the screw & shakily I manage to attach wax to it this morning! Oh God, please tell me I'm a sissy and that I need to be more brave !

I had my screws (2's) in together with 2 upper tooth extraction too. But it wasnt wisdom tooth tho. A month later, i remove another 2 lower tooth. Abt few months later i remove 2 of my upper wisdom tooth.

I didnt get swelling face too. Maybe i was lucky? IF ur normal brush is too harsh to brush on the screws, try soft or baby brush? Softer, then u should feel better too. smile.gif

Just pray and it will be over soon smile.gif

Woah you had like 6 tooth removed ? I'm starting to get use to the screw now, like okay it hurts but nothing scary. I hope my stitches gets healed soon ! How were your lower wisdom tooth like? Did you need to do a minor surgery there? Its lucky that you never really experienced the swelling ! And I didn't realize I shouldn't be talking too much, should rest my mouth more.

Xp3rT, haha must be that blocker ! How annoying that your upper and lower mouth couldn't touch one another right ! Somehow you'll get used to chewing like with a very small portion of your teeth (those that can touch) smile.gif

To me the screw is not the great problem but developing HUGE ulcers because of the constant rubbing between the head of the screws and my lip lasted nearly a week!!!! I am prone to mouth ulcer. I do a lot of things to get rid of it: pray, vitamin C, vitamin B exclusive incl zinc to heal, and drink a lot of water and the chinese watermelon powder, hurt like mad cuz 2 ulcers became 1 huge ulcer on my left, and right got 3 small and 1 huge ulcer... so you can imagine how bad it is... but now, they are healed... Thank God!

Shenay, my treatment started in May 2010. How about you?

I also used to easy get ulcer type. The Chinese watermelon poweder is no work for me. Until i found a medicine called "Oral Aid Lotion", just a small drop, it will relief your pain in min for temporary and it cure the ulcer in few days. (normally my ulcers can last for week)

Owh that sounds bad ! I've been having the wax on for these couple of days so it became better biggrin.gif But my mouth taste a little bloody all the time. God I hate wisdom tooth ! Gives me nothing but problems. I think it's getting better now & I have an appointment on like 24th Jan, I planned to insert two screws and extract one top tooth. Hopefully it will be okay for the CNY biggrin.gif

Awhh i started in March 2010 ! But it looks like your treatment is faster ! hehe

kentcp: Thanks for the suggestion! mouth ulcer is a big problem kan!

NikkiDaTeddy: Ya I tried that but it was a bit sticky and messy and taste a bit weird... haha

Shenay: Maybe the condition of our teeth are different, hence, our treatments take place different time. Ya, thank God there's wax, my lip is okay now!

Xp3rT: Ya, I agree with Shenay. After awhile, you will get used to the gap between the upper and lower teeth that you will be able to chew using those teeth that touch like the back of the teeth... The stoppers have been with me for i think 3 months already and I can see the gap between the upper and lower teeth are lessen and I can talk properly now hehe...

Are u Dr. How's patient? If yes, most probably u need. Otherwise if other doctor, mayb not?

However, doctor wi now force u. He will just suggest u to do it. Otherwise, it's up to ur own decision.

Since everyone says that Dr How is good, I have made an appointment with him end of this month.. bringing my panoramic teeth view X-ray to see him. I did the X-ray on the skull, etc but the previous clinic gave me only the panoramic view mad.gif . I think he will be frightened with the amount of work that I need to do (I used to have bulimia for years and I understand one of consequences is gigi rosak). That's why no gut to see dentist coz for sure kena marah.. Haih.. Now, I recovered from it and feel that I need to do something to my teeth. Sometimes I wonder who I should see, dentist or orthodontist.. I have decided to put on braces when I did filling the last visit at other clinic, the dentist korek the cavity at upper incisor (overlapping tooth) like archaeologist korek fossil, pity her and kesian for myself how to maintain for the rest of my life..
Surprisingly the previous dentist doesn't understand what is bulimia and she was giving me the facial impression like... hmm.gif apa tu..
I hope I am making the right decision to see the right person?

Mayo_PJ, happy to hear that you are recovering smile.gif!

About the orthodontist, you can go for consultation and see how you feel. If you feel the doctor can help you and you are comfortable with the doctor and the price is okay for you, then go ahead.

Before I went to see Dr.How, I went to another doctor for consultation. My heart had the feeling that the doctor was not right because I see his nurses "tak bersemangat" and no communication with the doctor. Plus, I wasn't so convinced by the doctor's explanation cuz I felt like he was just doing a job.

Then I came to see Dr. How, and the explanation by Dr.How about my problem and how he would solve it really blew me away! I was so surprised of how "pro" and detail he was. And that time, I knew he was the right orthodontist for me!

Usually, we need to consult few doctors before we can decide on which doctor to go for. Not that other doctor is not good, you just need to see if you are comfortable with the doctor or not and have the confidence to surrender your teeth (your future smile.gif) to someone to fix it for you... haha...

Imagine if I went to the first doctor, I know I would regret it! Haha! Thank God I followed my heart!

Thanks tomatonz ^^
In fact I have changed 2 dentists.. Not to say I'm fussy or particular but with expectation. It is about health. I'm observant especially small little tiny things, probably due to my job nature gua..
The reason I'm hesitating between to see a dentist or an orthodontist is due to the experience that I had with the 2 dentists.
First one I met, she did explain to me but I can feel that she's money oriented than patient oriented especially when she smiles (ya...I want your money.. that kind of grin). Ya la, I understand everything also about money. Then she asked me whether I plan to do braces, I answered yes. She checked on my teeth alignment, etc then on the day itself did X-ray and molding.. Not even fixed me yet to see the orthodontist.
The second one, the korek fossil dentist. I told her that I understand that I need to remove the premolar and wisdom tooth that can not be diselamatkan anymore and put on braces since the front overlapping tooth causing so much trouble and my lower case got another overlapping tooth also. Then she answered me - hmm.. this one.. you have to make an appointment with another in house dentist to decide whether to do root canal treatment, crowning or bridge. I was like shocking.gif What another in house dentist? How many dentist I have to see in the same clinic? You are not dentist meh? What are the fields within your expert? Doing filling only?? I told her about braces then she gave me another answer. Beh tahan.. I did filling two times under her also I ended up my shirt wet geh.. Really wet one ar... Water from my mouth flows to my back. One big patch damp on my back!
Since they are qualified dentist or orthodontist, I don't care which uni they graduated, coz I trust their professionalism.
But sometimes...It is saddening to let me see so many tiny little things which ended up as FLAWS in them.
I hope.. Dr How would give me a better impression and his professionalism end of this month.. Never looking forward to see a dentist/ orthodontist but now I'm looking forward to see him. Hahahha..
