The retainer should come with a box wan ma. When u go out, bring the box with u so when u eat, take it out and place it into the box? Actually we're very lucky now cos the retainer now looks like a transparent tray rather than a steel wire across our mouth.

I heard it collect lots of saliva inside la. But at least it's almost invisible lo.
gals may feel easier to bring the box bcos they can put it inside handbag, but for guys(at least 4 me), it wil b vy weird n mafan to bring the box along. tongue.gif sry i admit i'm a lazy guy, n yea, the retainer is almost invisible but when i close my mouth it wil look 'bengkak' haha, so i decide to jz wore it at nite.

@karynkhoo
the retainer wit a steel wire in front is old one, the new 1 is jz plain plastic n transparent.

Cant wait for the gap to be fully close. that is the first thing i check in the morning, hahah, braces has made me become overly obsessed with my own teeth. I've seen ur bfr pix, aint that bad la, as long as you're gorgeous now :-)

Good for you babe!! I never like my side profile as well, but i noticed the changes now, but not sure if it was because I lost weight, haha.

One question, must we extract our wisdom tooth? Dr. How never mentioned it to me, i wonder if I need to.
I believe every1 of us here is obsessed with our own teeth biggrin.gif

I decided to extract my wisdom tooth bcoz Dr. How said that it will make my face slimmer and he said, "It's a nuisance to me. I look at it, I just don't like it". Haha...

been really busy .... with work and study ... my progress... i used to have drawer mouth.... now back to normal... teeth all straight already ... so i think so far so good ...
*
how can u miss ur appointment for 2 yrs??!! u don't feel anxious to complete ur treatment n c u perfect teeth without braces asap?

did u sign any kind of agreement with ur dentist? i signed 1 tat says if i fail to attend my appointment for >9 months, it means i'm not keen in carrying on with my treatment and they'll send me reminder.

u did not receive any reminder from ur dentist? u did ur braces at private or public dental clinic?

anyway, i believe each of us here thinks that u should catch up with ur appointment as soon as possible and get ur treatment done. all the best!

what is drawer mouth?

anyway, do you mean that you did braces and never change the wire before or make any adjustment.
and after two years, your teeth came out looking good?  blink.gif
i guess... drawer mouth means underbite?

Last night I just put on my lower braces, and Dr. How put a white blocker at the wisdom tooth. It's ok if the blocker keep broken down in small pieces? Accidently close my mouth and hit the blocker.
Next appointment Dr. How will start to abstract my teeth, before the braces feel nothing for the abstraction. But after waited so long feel spooky again. Hahaha.

Its ok if the blocker chipped. But make sure you dont over done it. Next appt, u let doctor see. If your doctor feels its not ok, he will definitely top up somemore for you. tongue.gif

Dont worry too much about extraction, he will use anesthetics. So u wont feel pain la. Just that the after effect is quite scary. U will lose quite some blood. Thats it lo.

But still have to do it eventho scared. Just be tough alright?

Not need to extract if it doesnt bothers you. If say, ur wisdom tooth got infection, cavity, or grow in wrong direction. The u will need to remove it. My case cos it grew too long and they hit my bottom jaw. When i chew or jaw movement, i will accidentally bite on my lower gum.

And about the price for removal, depends whether it can be remove without surgery. Without surgery is wayyyy cheaper. With surgery will b4 RM500 minimum. Why surgery involve? Cos your tooth didnt grow correctly, maybe half of it still covered in your gum...  smile.gif

I see, well, mine looks fine for now...but since extraction can give a slimmer face....i dont mind getting it extracted haha. *i'm sucha psycho*

From your experience, how long it takes to recover from wisdom tooth extraction (with surgery)? I'm kind of paranoid now, I'm not sure mine requires surgery or not. I heard lower wisdom tooth normally requires surgery, but I think mine looks fully grown.

Haha, nice word>>top up. But the blocker very annoying.

Just hope so, lucky me I just extract the normal teeth not wisdom.

I think my gum can close quite fast, use to pull out my teeth when I'm 12 year old by myself. And the funny thing is that after pulling it, I drink coke and don't feel a thing. rclxm9.gif

Thanks for encouraging biggrin.gif

Dont worry, this is bcos the root of ur teeth are attached to your gum ma. We hav more sensitive tissues at our gum more...thats why...

Just dont eat hard or chewy food for the time being. Be gentle at them. Very soon u will be able to see improvment then u will like the pain u get. tongue.gif
