My ortho never ask me to use any specific toothpaste.

Until now I still don't feel any pain. =.=
So that means my teeth not moving at all? =(

You guys have already done extraction? Or put on braces first, then only extraction?

You doing daemon system right? Maybe this system work just fine cause it reduce pain than the old system.
Yea, I'm also curious about the extraction part. Seem like no one have comment on whether put on braces and extract later. Feel creepy, cause my turn to put on braces this wednesday blink.gif

Heh finally my teeth stop hurting.

hjh87, I should think extraction is done before putting on the braces? Dr How didn't do my lower braces because he said I may need to extract 1 tooth from the lower jaw. Maybe you want to give them a call and enquire first? smile.gif

As far as I know Dr How would like to observe how the teeth moves first prior extracting which I think is good. Further why rush into extracting (pain). That also might explains why upper braces fix first to observe how the teeth react/moves.

I have a same dillema here. Teeth not so pain and doesn't seem to move/move very slowly..maybe old already. nerve stubborn.

Thanks d_chew for ur info, it really make me feel easy for the day.
For the extraction part, I feel not so secure if did not do the extraction. Scare after removing the braces the teeth won't hold for long and maybe return to the old shape.
Then I'll just let Dr.How figure it out for me.
Thanks again.

Extraction won't affect how long the teeth will remain their position. After removing braces, we need to wear retainer, possibly whole lifetime to make sure the teeth don't return to their original position.

Hi guys,

I've been wearing braces since Oct 09 and I'll be heading to Dr. How for extraction later on. For those who wonder about braces first, extraction later, here's how my scenario works.
Dr How tried to widen my teeth structure hoping that teeth extraction would not be necessary. They have widened up due to spacers and thicker wires, no overlapping teeth but unfortunately, my teeth still protrudes.

I'm sorta happy for this next appointment although it's teeth extraction. Well least i know from now on, it's about pulling the teeth in for a better side profile =)

Retainer is a must, but still I prefer extraction. Haha maybe I'm abit crazy.
Dr.How just put on my upper braces, need to wait 1 month for the lower braces.
Look like the daemon braces just been glue onto the teeth. They use uhu gum ah drool.gif (just wonder)

I just had all my 4 teeth extracted. I've been wearing inovation c braces since june last year. The doctor tried to salvage my teeth by putting on braces first and observed if they aligned properly, but unfortunately my jaw is still not spacious enough to accommodate all the teeth, therefore extraction took place. But as what kentcp said, since i'm already wearing braces, the gaps can close easier than without one. Moreover, i've been given some tiny rubberbands called the "parrot" to pull my teeth from the back to that next to the extracted space. The doc mentioned that the gaps will close quicker with the help of the elastic strings. Oh btw, is anyone of you using the parrot rubberband? How often do i need to change i wonder? it's hardgoing to put on at four sides though.. i hope i don't need powerchain at the moment.. or do i need them later?

Hmm thanks for telling me, at least I can prepare myself to go through what I have to, in future ! ahah oh ya, is it a must to be using the Pearldrop gel toothpaste and Oral-B rinse everyday? The toothpaste is quite costly =/

Went to Dr How yesterday. He re-position few brackets. Back to numbness again. Cant bite with front teeth.

Gosh this morning, one of the bracket popped out. Dr told me he doesnt like to hear that. Well...i also dun like. Its a hassle to go back and wait for the long queue just to glue one damn bracket back.

IF i leave it like that without having it in place again, i'm afraid it will affect my treatment period. sigh...
