QUOTE(mrknight @ Sep 17 2018, 09:41 PM) on contract : downgrade ( penalty ), upgrade ( no penalty ) both renew contract Ya, that's why I said is because he's still under contract so there's penalty, not because he want to downgrade... As long as your contract has ended, there's no penalty for downgrade...off contract : downgrade ( no penalty ), upgrade ( no penalty ) both renew contract |

After over 3 hours of surveying, researching and asking around in LYP about how to setup my home network w/ Turbo 500Mbps (even tho I did my homework here and there and somewhere......)
Finally end up with something like this: Home Profile - 2 Storey House - Around 1700 sq ft - 3 location to setup Ground Floor - Alcatel Lucent I-240G-P --> TP-Link Deco M9 Plus (1) thru RJ45 Cat5e Cable - Deco 1 --> Unblock Tech Android TV Box thru 5m RJ45 Cat5e Cable - (Back Room/Drum Room) Deco 2 --> Brother's PC thru RJ45 Cat5e Cable First Floor - Deco 3 --> TP-Link 5 Port Easy Smart Switch TL-SG105E (Switch) thru RJ45 Cat5e Cable - Switch --> My PC and other 2 laptops thru RJ45 Cat5e Cable I know there will be some asking why I didn't just drill holes, lay long ass cables or get more better routers just to get the highest speed and most stable net possible, but wire-free tidiness and budget means I can't go crazy with the setup (until the foreseeable future that is) So far the speed tests I did on DSLReports on my 1st floor PC with around 10 devices using the network gives me an average speed of around 450Mbps down and 100Mbps up. Of course I'm happy with what I got so far so it'll have to do for now. 10 tests result I did after the setup P/S: The line before was old tests on the old setup which can be refer here PP/S: Guess who got the only 2 Deco M9 Plus in LYP and possibly Klang Valley? QUOTE(GamerKid @ Sep 17 2018, 10:14 PM) I did this and didn't even get a call, made a report to SKMM straight away. Because I'm paying 329 for 100mbps while others are paying 159/189. I did asked for a discount but they proudly refuse. Are you still under contract? I am, so I didn't ask directly but hinted it very strongly but wasn't offered a discount even at Menara TM (counter 1). Since 30 September is less than 2 weeks away, I think I'll wait and see what Lord Gobind has in store for us |

Nice one, the Deco M9 Plus is definitely the best mesh device I have tested so far. QUOTE(blacktubi @ Sep 17 2018, 10:30 PM) What is the failure on your RT-AC88U? RT-AC88U[U]My RT-AC68U have been rock solid for years in a hot environment. 1st time: The Internet light turned red and stayed that way forever. Can't access router login page even after resetting it. 2nd time: (Unit from Singapore) Ports 3 & 4 failed. 5Ghz band works for only 5 seconds then no Internet connection. Prior to that, I have been using the stock TM router for 7-8 years and I thought buying one of the best routers would save me a lot of trouble and instead gave me more |

QUOTE(diversity @ Sep 17 2018, 09:34 PM) I have two packages with Unifi For the 500Mbps, it's the same for me, need to use 5Ghz to get about 220 mbps. LAN for sure can get higher. ( corrected )1) 100mbps lite RM129 2) 500mbps turbo upgrade RM179 Both using the newest routers given by TM (D link DIR-842 & TP Link Archer C1200 respectively). However for both when using the normal 2.4ghz wifi can only get max 50Mbps (even when I'm standing infront of modem&router) with TM speed test & speedtest.net. In order to get the max speed, have to use the 5ghz only. Normal? This post has been edited by StuartLee2015: Sep 17 2018, 11:35 PM |
