I use mostly 2.4 spectrum. My current asus RT-AC1200HP only support up to 300mbs for 2.4 and remaining 900mbs is 5.0.
With Unifi upgrading to 500mbs, this AC2900 can support 2.4 till 750mbs.
So to answer you, Yes for me to fully utilize UNIFI's Turbo upgrade

Asus RT-AC1300UHP is good. It is 3x3.

Must be 2x2:2 client device for this device with PHY link speed of 867Mbps. Factor in 40 - 60 percent overhead (error-correction, inteference, frame retransmission), that about right.

Try run speedtest using LAN cable.

I see then the deciding factor of wifi speed is not 2x2 itself? I saw the kill ac card in alienware is also 2x2 but can go up 1.6 or 1.7g if I rmb correctly. So if I change to 3x3 router and using the same 2x2 card Will the speed on wifi improve or since my wifi only have 2 antenna the extra 1 is wasted?

Does the provided AC1200 Tp Link support wired connected up to 800Mbps? I've checked my unifi account and turbo boost 800Mbps is active, but speedtest only capped to 100Mbps

TP-LINK AP500, an an AC1900 Gigabit AP..
let's say it is used in client mode (connect your pc using a cat6/7 cable to it)
in theory, it should give a faster speed (on unifi 800Mbps) compared to using whatever brand AC1900 usb3 wifi receiver right?

not unless you have a good cable someone somewhere related to the turbo upgrade team.
or someone higher up in TM to manually trigger the upgrade.

I am facing some problem with my wifi connection. I have split it into 2 channel 2.5 gHZ and 5.0 gHZ.

5.0 GHZ has delivered download speed at 300++ and upload speed around 120.
However, for 2.5 GHZ, download speed is stuck at 30++ but upload speed is around 90++

Is this speed rational or is there some hiccup happening here?

All the while I'm not the one paying for the Unifi, but I just only checked the bill for the first time (my sister paying and don't check the bill at all), and noticed that our 50Mbps package is charged RM 219. RM 60 is for the Ultimate Pack/IPTV.

When we tried to recall, we remembered that when we applied for Unifi (30 Mbps then free upgrade to 50Mbps), the IPTV was free for first few months (can someone confirm this?), actually we don't want the IPTV and told TM to cancel it later. So we thought it was cancelled.

But I read so many here paying about RM 160, so I checked and tried my luck to appeal. I was told that all Unifi package MUST include the IPTV which doesn't make any sense to me. When I questioned why some paying lower, then was told that different promotion.

Need to find out the following, if I've a case then I'll appeal to MCMC, if not then I'll forget about it. It's a lot of money paid (yes it's our mistake we didn't check the bill but again we recalled we call TM to cancel it).

1) Is it true that all Unifi package must tie in with IPTV?
2) Is it true that we cannot cancel the IPTV at all, meaning those not under any "special promotion" must pay RM 219 for the 30Mbps (which was upgraded to 50Mbps later)?
3) Any idea if TM able to check from their system that we didn't use the IPTV service at all
4) During early days, was IPTV given free for first few months then they charge us later?

i am very confusing right now, bcoz there are so many version of story about the RM129 100MBPS plan. i went to TM point and the lady told me the pro plan 100mbps RM129 is just a basic plan which come with free call 600min, if you wan watch unifi TV through big screen on TV, then you need add-on another RM30 for that. Although i tell her i currently own a STB under 30mbps plan. She said the RM129 only can watch unifi TV using mobile app, i wan the basic channel for my mum and dad but i dun wan fork out more money on that, so who success change to this plan can you tell me does this true ?

Yes, if you have upgraded your broadband package to unifi lite plan™, you can still experience the unifi TV content from your preferred unifi TV pack whether it is Aneka Plus/Ruby Plus/Varnam Plus/Ultimate pack using your existing unifi TV Set-Top-Box.

Your phone only had 1x1 antenna so it's consideered pretty good to have such result. Nothing you can do to improve the situation unless you buy phone with 2x2 antenna (which is very rare).
