Does this part looks like made by TCA ? Bought this from trusted seller with physical shop, doesn't have any TCA branding. Googling the part number returns to bunch of other aftermarket like Denco and such.

I don't want to be a sucker.

Yeah never heard of TCA brand before. Mounting brand usually RMS or Schmaco. Both ok. KYB one doesn't quite work well for me, maybe my UR bar don't went well with it.

Anyway since buy already then use saja la.. Mounting is wear and tear item.

TCA brand make mounting stuff. I had them for engine mounting in myvi and this persona previously. Usually comes with their plastic packaging. Just cant believe a manufacturer doesnt do any branding like this.

Returned them already.

Why don't get genuine Proton? OEM cheaper a lot?

A lot of the so called genuine proton part are not original. I decided that it is better to find an aftermarket part - one with respectable enough manufacturer to actually brand their product and stand by their name compared to some unknown manufacturer that sell their stuff by using others name. I guess the only way to tells it is original is by buying the ones that is priced right.

So to save the headache figuring out if I got a genuine proton or something else, buying an aftermarket is much easier - and cheaper by considerable amount.

Found out that there is actually some quality difference between cheapo no brand and original proton part, even for the small rubber part.

One side I use absorber link original proton. The other side bought "mitsubishi" brand super cheap on shopee. 1 year later, the cheap part was reduced to rubbery rot. Proton part is still looking good.

Agree on this... That is why i normally purchase original Proton parts from well known workshop like Zordaq just to be sure I get the genuine parts...
It can last longer but the price is quite expensive compare to the part price you can purchase at Shopee (but difficult to know the quality and reliability)

Zordaq sometime share how you can differentiate between original and fake part...

And don't get me started about the auto tensioner... tried all brands, cheap aftermarket, more expensive aftermarket, they all doesn't hold a candle to original proton. bangwall.gif
The only tensioner worth buying is the one priced RM300+

Ya mine also Gen2 kosong spec.
I see comments saying the abs pump is directly connecting to battery positive terminal, so it was always on even when you switch off the car. The fire can started even if the car was off... Sounds dangerous and design flaw.

By right, i mean by right, most high voltage component of car should be controlled by relay. So even it's directly connected to positive terminal of battery, ABS pump with relay should stay off when it's intended to by relay and deemed off by ECU.

I'm nothing expert in automotive electrical but since we don't have ABS in our car, and others no issue with that, never mind lo hahahhahah...

Yes. All SVs, https://<link removed>/2013/11/30/proton-perso...sv-launched-rm/
And high line PE https://<link removed>/2010/03/18/proton-perso...ially-launched/

With this much prevalence of Persona with ABS on road, yet none of such case reported in this forum since heyday of Persona, i think it should be fine?

Probably lesser owner active on lyn, instead they active on Facebook group. Been like seeing 2 discussion on Gen2 for past few days, but one of the photo I can recognize it's Persona from the slightly burnt engine bay photo and the tail.

I go see see look look. Most scary is wiring problem. Difficult to detect, difficult to fix also.

Edit: wah really more active compared to here hahahaha... But like some post suspected, wiring got old, or biten by mouse hence short circuit.

A bit sad to see scrapped post also.

Front absorber KYB silver: RM350 with shopee voucher
original proton absorber mounting: RM120 after voucher
labor cost: RM100 for both sides. quite shocking because it is a back breaking job, but the shop don't like to put high charges.
front and back alignment, including a single what I think front camber bolt RM180. (i'm a regular at this tire shop, guy like to charge RM40 for a single bolt, probably RM80 for both front/back alignment and RM30 for single camber adjustment)
Saw that the front headlights starting to have wiring issue with dim light, decided to change to LED with lower wattage but same brightness, change to philip ultinon, RM150 after voucher

Total: RM900

how is your weekend?

How's Kayaba Silver? Was it very stiff and jumpy for sports car driving type?

Havent tested, but it seems like it is on the stiffer side. Or it might just be the previous absorber was leaking and too soft. Tomorrow i drive to work we'll see how.
