I check at Persona Facebook Group, original starter should be from APM brand, if you purchase other brand; OEM, very difficult to know how long it can last. Unless other have experience and can share it here. My original starter can last more than 11 years (Dec 2010 - Jul 2022)....when change new one i did miss out to look on the brand because i was outstation and just trust my regular mechanic who change it for me...cost me RM380 (i believe this is quite expensive if you compare what being offer in Shopee nowadays come with 1 year warranty (shown in receipt) but now already pass 1 year and still working fine...

Do be aware that even original is made by APM, the after market APM might be different than what APM made for proton. I learned that by buying APM alternator and the one i got (sworn by spare part shop it's persona elegance APM alrernator) and the one swapping out with PW number looks totally different.

Original does makes difference so does the price.

Note: The APM alternator didn't last as long as the original Proton's made by APM alternator. Died on it's second year.

Your alternator die on second year ? ...that is too fast... hmm.gif
When my car get into flood, the workshop i send my car change the alternator with not sure what brand of alternator (cost me RM580), it can only last for 16 DAYS...
how i know there is problem ?...Symptom; My NEW BATTERY become FLAT...
After that i go back to the workshop upgrade the alternator because it still under warranty and they upgrade to Mitsubishi alternator (add another RM100)...
It just past 1 year and 2 moths...still monitoring how long this new alternator can last...hope it can last for several years at least...

Ya, Few spare part shop that i went no NTN for ABS version. And try call for further shop, price almost same as original RM160 per pc.
Maybe i will go for China new oem. Just even that also different shop carry different 1, price + - 10 to 20. Less than RM100, but labour itself already RM60 per side. Maybe i just change the 1 have problem.

Did you change before? 1 side or both side?

I change my rear left bearing brand NTN when my car mileage at 307,000++km somewhere in 2022...
Only change one side cost me RM240...
The workshop told me the best is to change both rear side but i decide to change only one side...
The original bearing can last 12 years (2010-2022)
Now i think the other side of the bearing start giving sound..
But i just let it be...
Once the sound become worst only i change... rclxs0.gif
My mantra on my car "Don't change the part unless IT REALLY NEED TO BE CHANGE... "

Change both sides. If one is faulty, the other side is bound to be faulty soon.

About the range, if take NTN. Workshop & Seller keep say all about the same. Different about RM100.

My original bearing is 13 years, about 160k. If local or China made can last half of it is also worth, unless only 1 to 2 years, then is a waste. My also rear left, but when drive the sound seems like is from front.

Workshop say the same, but labour charge no different, per side. So I will just change 1 side, unless can save on labour then may go for both.

Yeah... That's how i learned original part and OEM branded part are not the same even we can identify OEM manufacturer.

Now on Gvolt.

I tend to agree on both sides. After all no ones buy single side of slippers right? 😆

But yeah it's very common in Malaysia to change faulty side only as our cost of time and worksmanship permit this logic.

No right and wrong. Just matter of preference.

Ya, nothing wrong, just ask some opinion from some who experience before. At the end still our choice. For my case, i will change 1 side tomorrow. Worse case change another side, just waste some times only.

To my surprise is check few shop TNT no warranty, only China or Taiwan have 3 months warranty. So I will just give a try.

I have problem, seat belt on driver side, i think the spring no more functioning, it do not retract by itself. So some time the metal part will be lay at the door, then you close the door it hit and dent the door area. Anyone here already change this part before ? You change the whole seat belt set or you just change the spring part ? Please share your experience....

Around RM100-110 like that, bought from Shopee, first shop sent me I think Perodua type which is on my photo, can see differences not fit so I return refund.
Second shop I buy Proton Savvy type, can use but height position is fixed cannot change. I think if want similar one will need around RM160 so I didn't buy that. Using Proton Savvy type now still good.
