last week i went to SC for engine oil change

than the mechanics said some oil leakage detected and came from engine top cover as per photos below and recommend to change the seal cam cover and oil filter cap for a new one.





and they told me that brake pads almost left 10% for front and 30% for rear brake

Bendix MKT are some seriously overrated pads. Overheats damn fast and makan disc like mad..
For a good budget brake pads, I will stick to either Mintye or Bosch Pads. These 2 budget brands are the only ones that didnt overheat too much after spirited drive down genting.

Change Top gasket/seal cam cover? impossible need to change so often.. Mine after change never leaked till now and that was like 3 years ago.

I also chg it mostly less than 2 years. 
Never more than 2 years except the original one.

I think I got use both of it before.
Is it really that important? 

In reality if ur engine is operating at such high temp that it matters between using 30 or 40 oil, then u need to consider flushing ur radiator and changing a better coolant. 

I also think it is not related.
May be the gasket itself that has different grade~

Lol.. Mine run for around 150k km before i changed.. I see no degradation in my coolant or any engine oil leaking into the radiator area..
Never had overheating issues too.
Nice.. Never tried Tesco brand.. Too generic to give it a try. 

Time to time just check ur coolant reserve tank level and also open the radiator cap to see if there is any brownish sediments.. Then u will know if a leak is coming out somewhere.

just want to share. i only changed the coolant together with timing belt. other than that, nope. and it's working fine. now clocking 190km, so, twice change timing belt, and also twice changing coolant. yes, me too using stock proton coolant..the only thing that i changed on my car is the extractor and the HU. others are stock. even the stock front abs is still performing fine until now. the a/c i never serviced. it's still just as cold. 2011 persona h line.

parts that finally damaged since ownership:
1. drive shaft (left)
2. crankshaft sensor
3. Rear abs

and, that's it.

is there a need for power steering fluid change or flush ? how much is the price ya at proton sc ?

Im using Brembo normal rotor, work well with brembo brake pad. squeezing sound after changed other brand brake pad.

Have you solved the issue? I accidentally did a full front suspension restoration because of a noise issue.

Basically, you need to make sure the nature of the noise. If it's rhythmic that changes depending on your speed, it can be 3 things: wheel bearing, tire and drive shaft/cv axle, the thing that rotates in the car. IF not, it can be other things.

ah i see, it's the outer cv axle. you can get new aftermarket one for 150-250 on shopee depending on what brand + have ABS or not. anything proton original one sure mahal double price compared to aftermarket. changed my left driveshaft few months ago with brand Gaido RM210 plus pay labor charge RM40.

anyhow, Proton SC can just walk in or need to make appointment?

Less driving, mean less km achieved.
Do u guys chg the engine oil on the 6 months basis?

Already 1 year, was thinking want to change or not... Barely 5k km
