2.1.4 is the final firmware - stable and good, been using it since it was released.

all himedia boxes have paused - final firmwares done, no new model.

I also recently bought the Q30 which is in many ways similar to Q10pro/Q5pro - just as good for local playback+HD audio, youtube, unifi playtv.

finally solve my problem, it seems the network switch that I procure previously wasn't a full gigabit switch

only some of the ports are

I change to a new switch, no lag or anything be it with any player already

finally after so many years.....

so I took back the hi media back to my home dy

and hor... how to reformat the hdd in it again ar? hahaha
bought the 2tb for so long haven't do anything at all

to access the HDD inside, u need to use a USB-b for the box connection at the back, connect USB-a to PC - the type of cable used for printers.

if it has been formatted in the box before, there's no need to do again.

Q10pro is a good box, esp for local playback; mine is 5 yrs old, used everyday, can use for another 5.

Q30 is much like Q10pro except for no HDD compartment and BDMV menu is not full.

Video quality, audio quality, AFR switching, 4K, HDR features... all same.


if u mean playing just audio without a tv, no, not really.

firstly, u need the screen to navigate, select, play, etc.

if u switch off the TV when playing, the hdmi connections somehow get disrupted, u get audio breaks, no good.

but cud be my equipment, u can try yours and see.

I need something to handle audio files without a need of display, either thru mobile devices or thru the front panel

there must be some players that have display panel, no need TV.

DVD players may not do.. i experience same audio pauses when playing CDs with TV off.... something to do with the connections.

yea, not easy to find though

kelvinlim001 did direct me to one, with display and everything, behaves like an audio player but with video function, not too sure tat can play iso or not, but the price is a killer

yesterday tested zidoo music player, its really nice, really play everything I throw at it, DTS, SACD ISO, n the functions when playing the ISO

but when it comes to categorisation n scrapping... its really horrible

Not worth it if too costly.

Which is why i paid rm300 for q30 for a second player, mainly for local playback.

found a workaround dy, everything is perfectly fine on the scrapping hahaha

problem with the zidoo now to soundbar or Denon AVR, sounded super harsh... not very nice.....
