Noob question, I hv a q5 ii emmc version, may I know if that is possible to upgrade the android version or the firmware so the android version can be upgraded? My device hv been super outdated, most of the apps are unable to install already... Any help /advise is super super appreciated...

Yr box is 9 years old, long overdue for retirement.

Q10pro wud hv been a great upgarde for you 4 or 5 years ago but that is also old now alto still working with almost everything.

There is no good and new himedia model at this time.

Q10pro can support iptv like MYPADTV and MYIPTV4K?

if u mean the paid ones of those boxes which are illegit and illegal, i doubt it.

other legit iptv like astrogo, unifiplaytv, bbc iplayer, iflix work fine, as they do on other boxes.

recently himedia q10 pro startup time quite long

boot up to main screen normal

but the clock stuck at 08:00:00 for 3-4 min , machaim doing program startup
if i ignore n start any app it will not work as no internet connection

any idea reason as no new app was installed recently?


other than that set was working properly once clock back to real time

this is typically due to something not right with the internet connection, incl incoming stability.

check router, cables, ip, dns; if wifi, all the wifi settings.

I have this problem with my Q10 for last 12 mths. Every time my Q10 starts, clock shows 08:00:00 and no internet connection. Then I have to go ADVANCE SETTINGS each time to adjust the clock and then internet is fine. Initially I thought was the firmware issue. After upgraded to latest firmware, it was ok for a month and then same problem came back. So now, I just live with it and go adjust the clock each time I switch on my Q10 if I want internet connection.

just power on
go toilet or play a game on phone than clock will be real time

guess factory reset might help but as u say LIVE WITH IT as no big deal

waiting for next flagship of himedia till covid also over i guess

Couldn't locate my NAS with the EMBY , so gave up there after trying whatever I know

got the media centre app to work, not as straight forward as the zidoo
using NFS

somehow when I start to playback, I think back to same issues as last time, the movie will pause as well, quite similar to how the zidoo is, at the 4 minute mark

so technically my 3 units of media player, 2 z9s and 1 q10 pro
only one of the z9s works flawlessly in both location

anyone tried an external DAC to this Q10 pro ?
im not sure how good/bad of Q10pro built-in DAC

all this while i connect Q10pro using RCA output to my old stereo amp
mostly listening to spotify and music youtube

if i purchase a decent external DAC (approx rm300-500 used unit) and connect thru digital input, would be increase sound quality drastically ?

the hardware of this box is good.

the rca audio output should be as best as it can be.

so, i doubt DAC will improve the quality.

i see .. just curious if able to improve the sound if use external DAC...

I bought a HiMedia Q5 Pro about 3 years and the firmware is HMD 2.0.8 2018-04-04. Many of the apps are already outdated and the Netflix apk which I downloaded are not workable on the Q5.

Other than the update HMD-2.0.9 2018-07-06 on the first page are there any further updates on the latest firmware? I bought the Q5 from a seller in Malaysia. Is this considered a non-chinese model where I can update with european version?

I have a Hi Media A5. I would like to use it to listen to MQA and hi res files someday. All I have to do is to buy a DAC that supports these files, is it?

dunno what is MQA.

but your A5 should be able to play flac, wma, bdmv, m2ts, mkv and other hires video and audio files.

no need DAC, just hdmi->AVR->TV.
