Hi Nicety - Well received the Q10 pro in good condition and definitely a good player. Highly recommended.

Question - i also bought a 3 TB into hdd and assembled into the player already. How do I start using the int hdd?

If you just mounted the newly bought SATA disk for first time, you need the below two steps :

1). Initialize the disk to MBR / GPT partition.
2). Format the disk to NTFS file system.

To save the above job, you may ask the Sata Disk seller to do it for you. If you would like to explore by yourself, please follow the below steps.

a). Get ready high speed USB cable(Tyoe B) as per below photo. Typically you could find this type of USB from your USB printer.
Attached Image

b). Connect your Q10 Pro to your Laptop USB port as per below photo.
Attached Image

c). Power on your Q10 Pro and Laptop.

d). Goto your Windows Control Panel -> Administrative Tools
Attached Image

e). Select Computer Management
Attached Image

f). Select disk management, you will noticed "Not Initialize" disk which is your new hard disk. The below photo show the G drive is the "Not Initialize" disk.
Attached Image

P/S : If you could not find the "Not Initialize" disk, most probably the disk is not mounted properly or the disk has been initialized and partitioned before. Snap the screen and PM to me, I will help you to identify.

g). Right click the "Not Initialize" disk, select "initialize disk".
Attached Image

h). The below screen will appear.
Attached Image

If your hard disk capacity is 2TB and below, please choose MBR partition.
If your hard disk capacity larger than 2TB, please choose GPT partition.

i). After initialized the disk, you could noticed the disk status changed from "Not Initialize" to "Online". You can see the total disk space but "Unallocated"
Attached Image

j). Right click the word "Unallocated", select "New Simple Volume".
Attached Image

j). Select NTFS file system and click Next start formatting the hard disk. If you tick "Perform a quick format", the format will complete in minutes. If you do not tick "Perform a quick format", the format process will take longer time.
Attached Image

k). Your hard disk is ready to use, reboot your Q10 Pro and it should detect the new disk in your Q10 Pro now. Try copy files to your hard disk to verify.

A Quick Format is to make the formatting process quick, the drive is not checked for bad sectors.

A Full Format runs an additional step that checks the hard drive for any bad sectors. This check is what makes the full format take so much longer than a quick format.

hi, i would like to know more about Q5pro latest version.
i believe Q5pro and Q10pro are same performance right except the build-in Hardisk tray.

ok can the q5pro decoded the atoms x to multi channel via optical out to optical into AV receiver? which mean i will get the same effect if i use passthrough via hdmi and let the av receiver decode the DTS-X. Because mY very old receiver does not have HDMI input but have the optical and coax in. That is why i use the q5pro act as a dtsx , dts hd as a decoder. I have a 5.1 setup. my receiver got DTS and dolby.

and also pm me best price.

thanks

Thank you for inquiry. Beside the HDD enclosure, below are the differences :

LED Panel and Smart Touch-Key
Aluminum Housing and Low-noise Fan ( for HDD Cooling )
Coaxial digital audio port

In term of performance, Q5 Pro and Q10 Pro are the same.

Below photo show the optical audio port of Q5 Pro, you can passthru the audio to your AV receiver.

Adrian Supertv 1.1.0 is Kodi Addons which already preinstalled in your Q10 Pro. To watch Rio 2016, you need to upgrade to Adrian super tv version 1.1.6.

yr AVR is obsolete.

DTS and Dolby are digital audio but are not HD audio.
optical/coaxial output can only handle DTS/DD, not higher.

DTSHDMA, DDTrueHD are HD audio, need AVR with HD audio capability.
DTSX, DDAtmos are even higher grade HD audio - these need AVR with DTSX/DDAtmos capability.

You need media source, player and AVR all HD audio capable to give HD audio.
Or all DTSX/DDAtmos setup to give DTSX/DDAtmos audio.
For these, only possible with HDMI connections and cables.

in yr case, if the source and player are HD audio, but yr AVR is not, it will downgrade to core DTS/DD.

similarly for video, if source and player are 4k, but TV is not, it will downgrade to 1080p.
only with 4k tv can 2160p or 1440p be displayed.

hi thanks for the feedback.
ok i understand now. As a result, i still need to buy an avr with dts x and atmos support in order the play dts X and atmos. mostly probable will go with dts x because of current speakers placement. that is why DTS company still the best no matter what Dolby has done so far lol.

ok thank you very much for the advice.

I plan to get a new avr with dtsx, and the q5pro too.
But such files with dtsx are still rare.
So, hesitating, waiting.
Also, uhd4k videos also still rare for 4k tv.
Only netflix and youtube offer 4k videos.

So, for playback, still holding on to 1080p dtshdma, ddtruehd for now.

However, if need replacement right now, surely wise to get the newest capabilities.

Thank you for your support bro, Himedia boxes are proven over the time. This the reason we choose Himedia. I will strongly recommend to go for Q5 Pro and Q10 Pro since the hisilicon support more video audio codec and future proof.

H8 is using Rockchip chipset, compare with hisilicon, Hisilicon is better in video quality.

To choose between Q5 pro and Q10 pro, it is depend on your budget.
