Currently using 1mb but average download speed 180-190 kbps...should i sign up for 4mb package?...scared that it would be lower then no point pay extra money...

ShinRyu dont bother... ur 1mb package will give u consistant speed. Go 4mb u have throttling during peak hrs.

Just now.......... went 2 tm point upgrade to 4MB line..........
At 1st, I thought that .. all fees are waived...
but the customer service said........ u still need 2 pay activation fee + the technician need 2 come 2 ur house n fix the modem.

I told them I know how 2 setup...... but they said..... cannot...
2mb n 4mb..... technician need 2 come n check ....
activation charge is RM 88.............

True... tech has to come to ur place n login to tmnet site, report 4mb line is working. Ask for ur ic as witness that line is working.

For 4mb line, the technician need to come and check ur line. If your line can support 4mb, then they will proceed with the upgrade...

hello fellow 4mbps, right now I'm considering to upgrade my 2mbps package to 4mbps package, the reason was whenever one of housemate starts PPS streaming, the whole connection will be choking or even worse, connection time out. Until the housemate finishes watching, then we can only surf peacefully.

my other friend who suggest me to upgrade to 4mbps, since they can surf smoothly without any problem while pps. How true is that?

Last time when I was KL, my housemates' line works fine even when I was PPS-ing, and tat time we're using 1Mb line being capped at 2048kbps port.

1mbps is enough for me...ill sub the 4mbps if mine 1mbps line stable...urmm...

He means the modem capped at 2048, when you open the modem configuration page, the modem will show 2048 instead of 1024. It synced at 2048.

It means the modem synced at 2048 rate to the DSLAM. Even though the account is only 1024, it will act as 2048, the only thing is the maximum throughput won't exceed 1500 because maximum speed for 1mb account is 1.5mb(account cap).

Do you meant PPS streaming as in watching football and stuff? Weird, I'm only using 1mbps connection but there's no problem when I'm watching football. There's no complain from my housemates.

What bitrate is he streaming at? I'm usually only stream at 500kbps. Plenty of bandwith left for my housemate.

I pay RM76 per month for the bill.
If I want to upgrade to 88 per month I need to pay RM98?
