I was thinking of getting a new Illegear Onyx pro with 11th gen this coming June. But seeing the comments here, i am thinking twice. Should i go for it?

i am not sure about the quality of newer model now, 1st gen gtx1060 got quite a few problems
also it's hard to find spare parts and even battery in Malaysia, unless you want to spend a fortune for their first party services if it's out of warranty.

otherwise i'd recommend going to big brand like asus, acer and lenovo since the parts are easier to find, especially battery which is a consumable item

2020 onwards stock no probs.

1st generation Illegear Onyx user here. I had 2 problems with my 3 year old Onyx:

1. 2400mhz Ram kaput, Illegear replaced it and provided a free upgrade to 2666mhz.

2. Webcam suddenly kaput, they replaced it and deliver back to me in 3 days.

Overall I am satisfied with the product and service.

Well I had to send my onyx in again as my display ports are dead. Since it’s a mother board issue, I’ll need to wait another 1-2 months. FML.

I'm sure they have some staff monitoring LYN. Just kick up some fuss, and it will get sorted out "earlier"

I would opt for the SELENITE X because now has 8% fmco voucher.

You can also consider Legion 5 Pro, I heard some forumers get 10% or 13% voucher.

hello im an owner of an old onyx which have RTX 2070 and bought it around 2018-19. I just recently notice that my battery is all swollen, and when i remove it and using direct power. The fps of my game went down a lot to 50-65fps.

does anyone have software or something to bypass the limitation??? kinda hate i need to wait for the battery to be replace tbh.

Hi guys, just want to ask regarding graphic unit in the laptop...my laptop is onyx v ryzen 5 4600h with amd graphic and gtx 1650 ti..the issue that im always encouter is that my radeon software keep saying that the driver and radeon software version does not match... already reach illegear support team and they ask me to run guru 3d app to remove the driver, but after reinstall everything the problem still come back..is there any way that can permanently resolve this ya..quite irritates if this keep coming.. haish

You can try to reformat your laptop to see whether reoccurs again.

This cause by windows update where they load the driver recommended by the manufacturer... when you update you amd driver to the latest... once the window update detect it different from the manufacturer recommended driver it will install back the old manufacturer driver... you can turn off the windows update... but in long run it's a hassle.... since you buy from 3rd party company not the real manufacturer your issue will continue forever and ever... Have a nice day....
