Don't wanna sound like a representative or anything but to the people complaining about service I dont understand why. Among all the companies, this is the only company that i do not need to leave my laptop to diagnose for a week before they start fixing my laptop. I sent in for a screen replacement and told them that I urgently need my laptop so i sent on sunday morning and got my laptop before evening. I made sure they had stock beforehand. Could not do this with MSI last time... Dell different story la they come to your house and replace.

Overall satisfied with the 2019 illegear laptop so far.. i heard prior to first half of 2019 they had 2 major problems. 1 is the battery and second is the SSD was fixed without heatpads on it so it would overheat and spoil. I open up and check mine, it does have the thermal pad and i monitor temps doesnt heats up much.

btw just a advise for u guys... those want to connect to ext monitor

1. Dont buy 27" FHD too small and PPI too low
2. Get 24" FHD IPS 144hz 1/2ms instead or
3. 27" 2K IPS 144hz 1/2ms if budget permits.
4. Optimus useful so you can turn off your internal graphics so there is no jerking/lag/60hz problem.
5. if you dont have optimus, best way is to disable the built in graphics
6. From Nvidia control center if you set global to your GTX card, it will still switch when you alt tab to desktop no idea why.

so got optimus also not bad on rtx laptops biggrin.gif

just my 2cents on gaming laptop with external monitors. just got a 27" FHD kinda too big and too low PPI. should have gone 24 FHD

Yeah, I hate to say this but I would like to join this train too.

Still has 1st gen Onyx. Every year, there's always a problem, from keyboard to battery to BIOS. It's like every year I need to go to Damansara and get it checked up.

Recently, handed in this laptop before my warranty expired, already told them problems like constant BSOD (even though its not the KB5001330 update, or I put it wrong) and upon turning on without charging, the laptop would switch on but the screen is not light up for a few seconds....then shut itself down before re-start itself properly. The only way I can avoid the 'switch on problem' is by keeping it charging at all times even when I'm not using it.

When taking back this laptop, the guy said it has updated the BIOS, quick reset (which I kinda prefer full reset instead) and should be okay. One week later, BAM! BSOD COMES AGAIN!!
Even my 6-year old HP still stands strong.

Change the SSD, would probably resolve the problem

Anyone know a good and reputable laptop repair shop who does motherboard or cpu/gpu repair?

My laptop gpu is showing error code 43, did everything i could but still no chance.
Contacted illegear and they said gpu faulty, need to send back to manufacturer to repair. Would like to know if there's other place to fix, to save cost and time too. :'((

buy a new laptop then resell the old one when fixed... hahaha... thats the least downtime method. i hate when my laptop dies on me, so inconvenient.

Another complaint from me.
Sent laptop in for SCEP cert failures and frequent black screens. Sent from East Msia back to KL on my own money and had to pay to send it to myself again.
Problem persists.
This time they offered free collection. Ok fine.
My laptop is gone for 3 weeks ++
They have literally replaced everything but the mobo, which I've repeatedly told them is the main problem, but OK, fine.
Day 1 I get it back and it BSODs and throws SCEP errors and fucking THX driver errors.

Thanks a bunch for this piece of junk

Can share more about SCEP Cert failures? Curious, never heard of this type of problem before.

I bloody wish I could. It's ridiculous. This really drives home to point to never buy local brands I think. Just shitty behavior on their side overall
SCEP Certificate enrollment initialization for WORKGROUP\DESKTOP-6PM6HPJ$ via https:  MADE SPACE FOR LINK //AMD-KeyId-578c545f796951421221a4a578acdb5f682f89c8.microsoftaik.azure.net/templates/Aik/scep failed:

This, from googling, seems to be tied to AMD chipset OR the mobo.
Whenever I see this error, I expect my screen to turn black and not respond. Can still hear the fans spinning but nothing else.
From googling, it suggests disabling TPM but surprise, there's no TPM on their bios cuz they've not updated it since forever.

After I sent it in for repairs the first time, I've been also getting
The description for Event ID 2 from source THXUpdSvc cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

FATAL: thtf.GetDeviceIdentifiers : Device not supported
The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table

And after the second """repair"""
Volume Shadow Copy Service information: The COM Server with CLSID {4e14fba2-2e22-11d1-9964-00c04fbbb345} and name CEventSystem cannot be started. [0x8007045b, A system shutdown is in progress.
]

After my second send in, i've also gotten a BSOD on DRIVERS. Bloody hell, after the support claimed to have updated all drivers, I get this nonsense.

Did you try to stay at w10 and if the problem persists?
