i don't do withdrawal that much, so i'm thinking of getting a basic saving account. my previous cimb saving account was dormant for few years until it was auto closed this year. biggrin.gif  cimb keep deducting annual fees even though  i'm not using its atm service. doh.gif

CIMB Bank will charge you RM10 penalty. Then it will be automatically closed after 1 year of inactivation. The remaining balances will be send to unclaimed money bla bla bla.

since i have alertpay and paypal account, i'm thinking of getting maybank basic saving account with the cherry card thrown in. biggrin.gif  any hidden fee i should lookout for?
Suggest you to get Kawanku savings account instead. Even if it is a basic savings account, it will be closed if it's been dormant for 1 year.

For basic savings account, you need to maintain at least RM20 in your account at all times or there will be a penalty.

For Kawanku savings, i believe the minimum balance is RM1 smile.gif

Could that be a deposit ? Or the payment is on-hold ? Usually when i order DVD from Amazon.com, they will only charge my credit card just prior they ship out my ordered DVD.

PB D2D is linked to your saving
PBVE isn't linked to your saving
and their annual fee is different
PBVE need at least RM25
while i believe PB D2D need at least RM10?

RM1 needs to be kept inside your "Plus Savings Account" at all time.

You do not need to open an account with Public Bank if you only want to to Public Bank VISA Electron whereas for Public Bank D2D VISA debit card, you must maintain either a savings or current account with Public Bank.

For Public Bank VISA Electron and you need to deposit money into it via any Public Bank ATMs.

As for Public Bank D2D VISA debit card, whenever you swipe it, the money will be deducted directly from your savings/current account.

Even if you have a Public Bank savings/current account and you're using Public Bank VISA Electron, you need to manually transfer the money from your savings/current account to the Public Bank VISA Electron either through ATMs or PBeBank.com. Alternatively, you can simply deposit money directly into your Public Bank VISA Electron account via any Public Bank cash deposit machine.

finally understoond. lol. I've found this out at GSC's E-Payment T&C.
6. Cards that cannot be used for e-Payment:
i) SBB Direct Access Visa & Master Card
ii) SBB Virtual Master Card
iii) Any mini credit card
iv) Any non-standard credit card

this means they do not accept debit cards for their E-Payment right.?

Has anyone ever used the 'paypass' feature on their debit master card ? There seems to be more places where that can be used lately from what I've seen.

As far as I know only EON Bank cards have paypass.

Just to clarify about the debit card terms, because some people might confuse about it.

Debit card is a payment card where the transaction amount is deducted immediately from your saving/current account, upon authorisation.
Example: Public Bank D2D VISA debit card

Prepaid card or stored value card (SVC) which do not linked to your bank saving/current account. Card holder can reload money into the card and the value will be automatically deducted whenever purchases were made.
Example: Public Bank VISA Electron, TuneMoney prepaid Visa card
