I would recommend Maybank debit card. Very convenience to withdraw money, no charges involve too.

Im using Maybank Visa Debit too.

but too bad, when u shop around at low yat plaza, they got sur charge from 2-3% depends on which shop.

i thought Visa debit is not Credit card, but they charge also.

If you want to do online transaction, then it's not possible at the moment.
You can only use the card to swipe like normal credit card.

so you guys have attempted to do on-line transaction before i believe..
but i don't know what maybank really means in their FAQs about their debit card
regarding its general usage

---
*
Don't bother about the FAQ provided by Maybank. The card won't allowed you to perform online transaction. Don't even know the 3 digit number at the back at the card is for what purpose also.

After dealing with so much problems, I decided to ask something here.

Anyone here purchase anything from yesasia before? If yes and it succeed, can you please tell me what debit card are you using and how long would I need to wait before I can use the card (if apply for new registration)?

I have something rather important to purchase from yesasia now. So far I've tried MBB Visa Debit (which is virtually useless) and Freedom MOL (which requires securecode and have been waiting for almost a week now for the securecode to arrive via mail to my house).
*
Some debit cards do required an added password (apart from the CV code at the back of the card) as a form of extra security.
Maybank card is practically useless. I'm using Ambank and never fail in any online transaction so far. Paypal, Flight booking, Ticket booking, hotel booking. And it doesn't required a secure code or anything like that.

There are plenty of debit cards available now.
The reliable ones should be Public Bank Electron, Ambank NextG, and Tune Money card.

Use Ambank NextG Mastercard.
All transaction can be done provided you have available fund in your account.

i would like to use nextG but the nearest ambank branch is not within walking distance from my place, in case i encounter any prob n i need to go to the bank by bus n it would be very troublesome for me
besides, the annual fee is quite expensive.. i am not a frequent card user.. mayb just once in a month

another question,
let say i bought a computer hardware that cost rm100 and wanna pay it with my debit card
will it charge admission fee or something like that will make my purchase more than rm100?
*

do u all encounter interest charge when u using debit card for purchasing computer hardware in lowyat???

i was working 1 of the retail in lowyat, they said got charge for debit card.
This is really confuse, money immediately transfer to account also require to be charged?
And another thing is, they always use the term atm card instead of debit card. Which one is correct?
*
Usually small stores will imposed an extra charges around 3% if you pay using credit card.
Debit card is also a credit card.

ATM card is the term used by CIMB bank new bankcard with the credit card swiped function.
It should be the same thing as Maybank debit card.

*
Yeah tell us which web site can successfully make online transaction.
Been waiting for the days ever since the card is first introduce.

CIMB put their card as just ATM Card cos can't do online transaction.
Maybank so cocky straight put as Visa Debit Card but in fact is the only debit card can't do online transaction now.

Wait for reynna to give her answer. Right after I read what she post, I gave a call to maybank but had to put on hold for more than 15 mins. I instead message them through the forms on the website but who knows how long will it take for them to answer me back.
*
Well, they did say if when able to do online transaction, they will publish the news in their web site.

I guess because of MVD is free without any fees, therefore they might not implement online support.

Btw, are there any free for life debit card in Malaysia that can support online transaction?
*
Some banks even charge you yearly RM12 for using the ATM card.
Tune money card is the cheapest I think with an annual fee of just RM9.99 icon_rolleyes.gif

It's Visa.
I think debit card using VISA required additional secure code to do online transaction. Anyone can confirm that?

nope. not all debit cards offering rewards/treats points, and if got also the points on offer will be much less compare to credit card.

I think debit card using VISA required additional secure code to do online transaction. Anyone can confirm that?

Is there any problem with the card?

no problem with the card but it's a lousy card considering the fact that you can't make online purchase or transaction.

Ambank NextG mastercard and PB Visa electron is a few of the more reliable ones.
