I wanna try the Tune Visa Card, but just one thing, can it be used for online stuffs? I wanna book Malaysia Airlines tickets, but unlike AirAsia, they only accept Visa and Mastercard. So guys, can I use it there you think?

It's called an "authorization charge". The funds will be reserved/withheld from your card account, and credited back to you after a certain period. Different banks may have different period, from a few days to more than 14 days.. Call your bank to find out.

hi Guys, i read the thread frm no.1 till current,

well , this is my question:
Me n my friends applied Mol Freedom of EON during KLCC PC Fair 07 (on 8th Dec 2007)..

paid RM25.

What I'm not clear is, how do we get our cards activated...
the "promoter" seems to say they'll send the atm pin via sms?

please guide me through... the cards are 2 weeks old now, but don't know hw to get started..

is it :
1) I have to go EON Bank to topup minimum RM50 to activate the card?
2) I have to wait the letter of ATM pin to come?
3) I phone customer care to get it activated?

please tell me. thank you. notworthy.gif

i use molfreedom.

one thing that i learn, if you try to topup online (fpx, maybank2u) and did some mistakes ... and mol reject your application.... your money will be hold by mol (not eon bank, not maybank). call mol.

that what i experience. i make a mistakes (the card expiry date). i call eon bank ... they just said the money is not there. i call maybank, maybank said the money has been accepted. by the way maybank hold my line the longest ... 10 minute just for checking my money ....

lastly call mol ... yes the money is hold. i call mol everyday for 2 days, then they transfer the money to my account by RHB bank .... well .. my money travel from maybank to eon bank but got kick, land on mol .. and somehow it goes to rhb and got back to my card ....

other than that ... it's quite a pleasant to use mol freedom smile.gif

guess i have to use the traditional way. top up at 7 eleven.

affinbank held my debit mastercard rm150 for around 3 days for petrol kiosk (shell)...learned from that, now i always pay at the cashier using my debit mastercard...and now always petronas becoz super car contest brows.gif ..

meanwhile yesterday i opened Standard Chartered eSaver account which entitled me to another debit mastercard...waiting for them to send the card to my address....only need to deposit rm10 to open an account...huhu... guess what ?? Standard Chartered eSaver Debit MasterCard got 7% cash rebate into eSaver account on petrol transaction (any station, no matter shell, petronas & others) using the card... thumbup.gif
the debit mastercard also act as ATM card but no meps/bankcard network...it got HOUSe network which can withdraw money from HSBC/OCBC/UOB/Standard chartered bank.......annual fee just rm8.. (basically just for normal account mantainence and atm card fee)....

Huh? Is it true? How come? That's ridiculous. Tunemoney staff told me that anywhere with a visa sign are able to take Tunemoney Visa Card.
And that include's Genting Hotels.

Wow that's really silly. I hope they have a good reason for that.

Generally, Visa and Mastercard cards are accepted whenever the Visa/mcard logos are displayed.

U have to register by filling up the form provided when you purchase the card. When ur card is approved. a username & password will be sms to u to the no. that you registered. the pin no. will sent to u by letter.

you can topup through eon bank deposit machine. i think u have to select deposited to account.

No, you have to select PAYMENT TO CREDIT CARD. Whatever display on Credit Card apply to Debit Card, just the balance is mark as CRD only.

Hi all, want to get input from you guys here. Between Public Bank Visa Electron and Tune Money Debit Visa, which is better for online transaction (eg. paypal)? Which is is better for someone that didn't spend much?

Thanks.

To solve out all u guys queries...

There several types of Fund Available Card namely Debit Card (Debit Mastercard & Visa) and Prepaid Card (Mastercard Electronics & Visa Electron). All this must have minimum funds to maintain your account (depends on the issuer, in this case, Bank or Tune Money)... and also to top up or deposit the money into the account for you to use. But Credit card is a personal loan from Bank and pay back later. If you pay back in full, no interests,, but if pay less, got 1.5% monthly interests. Next year, Bank Negara ask all banks to reduce to 1.25% if last 12 months the credit card holders pay promptly.

Debit Card is usually tied up with a saving or current account from banks. Your visa & mastercard expenses are directly debit (cut out) from the accounts. So the risk is your whole account value. Of course you can perform transaction at all Visa & Mastercard merchants without problem. Example of this applications are Alrajhi Bank Debit Mastercard (Saving-i & Current-i accounts), Standard Chartered Debit MasterCard (e-savers account), Visa Electron (normal saving and current account), Affin Bank Debit Mastercard, Allied Bank.

Prepaid Card is those single account specially for the card. You need to deposit to the account (if maintain by the bank) or top up (if maintained by third party non bank company). Bank example are EON MolFreedom card maintain by MOL & EON Bank, Ambank NEXTG, Cathey NEXTG & iTalk NEXTG maintained by Ambank, Public Bank Visa Electron maintain by Visa, Pavilion Visa Prepaid by EON Bank and TUNE CARD maintained by Tune money with limited cooperation by CIMB. Of course all are accepted by Visa and Mastercard merchants worldwide.

Please dun be confused by these cards with MEPS functions. All these cards are FREE or minimum charges if withdraw thru own bank ATM. If withdraw thru others ATM (although bear with MEPS logo) will treated as VISA INTERLINK and MASTERCARD CIRRUS cash advance and subjected to high service fees.. like minimum RM10.

Whereby Malaysia has it own MEPS card (Bankcard lah).. your local bank ATM are MEPS lah.. can be debit purchase goods at several shops like The Stores & Jusco lah.. Enter PIN instead of just signature like the Visa & Mastercard Debit.

But beware of Tunecard cause it is no frill services,, which ever you ask will not be free... chargeable although annual free cheap.

I think he/she meant the Mastercard debit card which is currently advertised on TV. You know.. the one where a couple got lost and they ended in a petrol station. Bf go and withdraw $$ from ATM but the gf pay using her debit card before he got back to counter.

I myself curious on how to apply for that card. Heck I dont know which back it's from. I saw a big banner for that card at Cineleasure
