The Vista Aero desktop interface is DX9.0c compatible, but the OS itself comes with DX10. You need Vista to run DX10 software.

I change to Vista just becoz I want to experience it... but the reason I buy 8800GTS has nothing to do with either Vista or Dx10. I just simply want more juice to power up my games... my 6800GS seems weak already even for CnC3 to go anything above High..

yep, as someone stated before, most of us are using 7300gt. Thus the reason for upgrading to a better card.

Same here as well.

I have an XFX 7600 GS DDR2 256 MB, do you think getting a 8600 GT 256MB/128-bit will make much difference? (as in pumping up alot more FPS while playing games like Oblivion)

Non OCed? thatll make them all the same....but i guess ill go for the XFX for the double lifetime warranty thingy.

but also depends on what u want in the bundle la. personally...id rather have peace of mind with the warranty than an extra game which can be had for cheap brows.gif.

when the time has come, all of us will change. Since 8 series is about DX10, and DX10 games will be coming out this year. Anyway its very "cheap" to upgrde to Vista whistling.gif

For me I'll look for the overclockability of the card, not to say warranty is not useful, but I am sure any card that drop into my hand will be overclocked, thats make warranty not that useful anymore tongue.gif

asrock 775dual-vsta mobo (pci-e is 4x only)
512mb ddr400
driver : forceware 158.22 & ntune

with cpu 1.8ghz & gpu 600/700 (both @ stock speeds) :
3dmark03 : 10603
3dmark05 : 6123

hmm after mmohdnor getting 6k in 3dmark 05 with stock speed.. i was thinking of buying this galaxy 8500GT instead of my first choice xpert vision 7600GT do you think its wise?? 7600GT will score around the same in 3dmark 05 with 8500GT.. but 8500GT has DX10.. so do you guys think its wise to get the 8500GT or the 7600GT??

Hmm..not bad performance for the 8500GE for the price u pay. Thinking of selling my card and get either a 8500 or 8600GT.

Ok great..seems like its going to be another big u turn from me. To be honest, big money spending in getting 8800series is bothering me like hell. Spending over 1k isnt really my type of character and i am still trying to make the best out of it..

For now, suddenly i have a big doubt in mind. Leaving the 8800series aside, would the high end 7series be able to handle 22" native resolution in gaming? What will be the nearest challenger to the 8800 in term of performance?Thanks..
