IMHO, XFX offered much superior warranty
lifetime warranty for 2 owners
mean if you sold the card to the 2nd owner,
they'll still get the warranty

for BFG and EVGA, the warranty only applied to the 1st owner
if you sold them right away, tadaaaaaa....the warranty is gone

But there are some ppl who's very goddamn rich, who change gc whenever there's a better one available. So what do they do to the old one? sell larr. so if got warranty even though for a 2nd person, then it would be great rite?

ermm...i want to ask some noobz question about the 8500 GE or GT graphic card here. As you can see they oni cost around RM400 - RM600.
I'm using GeForce 7600GS 256 MB 256Bit now. It cost me around RM500 + last year sept. Just want to know y the 8500 so cheap?
Izzit better than mine becasue directx10 or ?

if u r using 7600gs, i don't think there's a need to change to 8500GT or the overclocked version 8500GE.

better go for 8600GT/GTS or better still, the 8800 series ..

i haven't thouroughly test my 8500GE yet ...

it is necessary for 2 owner's warranty, ur card will have higher 2nd value

& not all ppl is goin to change vga every time new & better vga comes out, like me once i change to a new gc, the next change will be when my current vga won't able to play most game, rite now using 6600GT, waiting DX10 games out, then change (that would be next year)

how much you bought the 8500GE and how far (as for now) you can go in overclocking...? mind if you post the PCB of the 8500GE, because... from what i can see from quite distant... it's similar to 7300GT board, same size, same cooler too ...

First of all, warranty is one of the marketing gimmick used to capture the hearts of buyers around. Look at it this way. Most of the 8800GTS 320MB i have seen are around the region of RM1.1k to RM1.2k. Now, they are all using the same cooler, same PCB, same tech and etc. What makes you choose the more expensive ones like BFG, eVGA, Asus etc. Its because of warranty. Some of them prefers a longer warranty even though its more expensive.

I do agree some of them are rich enough to change a GC whenever they want but not all are that type anyway. Besides, having 2 owners warranty can result in your card having better 2nd hand value as well as protect the 2nd owner in the same time as well. Not to mention if people are rich enough and changing GC are like changing clothes, then for sure having 2 owners warranty can benefit them as well...

Lifetime warranty?Thats too much of a gimmick as far as i can see. Look at rams nowadays, all come with lifetime etc...For me, 3 years is more than enough. More than that and you will be looking at yourself still using an "Antique" card at that time..lol...


AFAIK, the GE only cost about RM350 now. Great buy if it can OC like hell like what the 7300GT can do..


Just obtained my salary today. Gosh, far less than what i expected. My 8800GTS dreams seems doom now..LOL..Unless i could wait another month which i really doubt so..Must look into the lower ranks now..Damn..

well..i dont OC mine GC though. I just want their original (i dont know how to OC that's y....)

Then i'll wait till 4 or 5 month oni upgrade

LOL..I dont and dont know how to OC my 7300GT as well when i got it. Not sure about ATI though but all i do to OC my 7300GT was : Click at the FIND OPTIMAL SETTING button on the Nvidia Control Panel and it became OCed..LOL...

After that, you will start to play with some settings as its getting really fun later..lol...

galaxy has 2 variants of 8800gts 320mb oc n std... i'm running the oc version 550/1800 oced from factory...

IC, thanks for the info there as i only saw normal version at their website.

Did anyone notice any other brand for 8800GTS 320MB going for below the 1.1k mark besides Palit?

palit could be the cheapest beside those OEM, after Palit is galaxy and winfast

when you want to sell you card later,
your card will have higher value coz the buyer still can have the warranty

about the XFX dual warranty... IMO its redundant, since it have to travel through US and waiting for it to come back. "This exclusive program is valid only to purchases made in North America (USA or Canada).

most ppl who bought highend cards are willing to change it within 2 years, eg. look on how many ppl here still using 7800GTX or 6800GT? For other brands that the local distros has brought in, all of them have 2 yrs of warranty and can be replaced ASAP locally. LYP shops only help u to claim for the first 1 year but u can go to distro urself later on.
