Volta is not for consumer cards. It is meant for AI use in the enterprise market.

The consumer version is call Turing.
Things that was told:

1. Turing will support new direct x 13. And thts y you need those Tensor Cores that Pascal cards dont hv.
2. We know Volta is using HBM2, either 3072 or 4096 bit memory bus width. Turing will be using GDDR6, 256bit memory bus width. Gtx1180 will come with 8gb vram only. Rrp usd730.

Rumours say gtx1180 will release on July 30. We shall see abt tht.

Almost hit that pre-order button... then I thought, geesh, my processor guaranteed to bottleneck (first gen i7-870 ~ OC to 4GHz) which already being pushed by a GTX 970.

I'll wait for reviews and perhaps see if a system upgrade is really needed.

Apparently the consensus on the presentation was underwhelming - 70% Ray Tracing lecture, 25% Gameplay, 5% GeForce RTX GPU details. 

The part I was most looking forward to were the list of games that would support Ray Tracing (PUBG??) and comparison to Pascal performance for games but the latter... was never revealed.    Have to wait for reviews.

GTX1070 is right around the bottleneck

Heck my 4.6Ghz 6600k which is slightly slower than 4.3Ghz 4770k also bottlenecks my GTX1070ti in some games at 1440p.

Hard to say, it depends on the game and graphic settings:
Monster Hunter World around 60fps faced CPU bottleneck
DOTA 2 cannot break past 200fps because CPU bottleneck. My friend who had 4.5Ghz 6700k can break past
Rise of tomb raider CPU bottleneck around 90fps i guess
it is all right around gtx1070/ti limit

oh ya, when i was hit with cpu bottleneck, GPU usage is like around 90%, not 99%, but on 1440p

Notice how all manufacturers for those 12 monitors except for BenQ has been sucking nvidia's D for the last 10 years?
Also it's very odd how the Acer XG270HU is certified but the XF270HU isn't?

On a separate note - those who want to sell their 1070, 1070ti and 1080 better do so now. 2060 will murder 1070 second hand prices.

It's about consistency, not about whether it matters or not. Otherwise why the hell is there a need for certification? Nvidia is clearly using this certification to indirectly jab at AMD and using it as a marketing tool.

Although I've to say that the 2070 is now rendered pointless at that pricepoint given that an OC'ed 2060 can almost reach 2070 for 150 USD cheaper, in the past the distance between the xx60 and xx70 cards was very well defined so that NVIDIA could prevent cannibalization of their x70 cards for cheaper x60 cards.

This is gonna be the most expensive x60 card ever released though.
