Minimum should be 4G for a stable use? buka whatsapp, buka fb, tgk youtube.. if wana game, clear apps then starts gaming stable or not, that depends on the OS miui ofcourse not enough because miui sucks lots of memory but for 'normal' usage should be more than enough |

QUOTE(aBg_rOnGak @ Dec 4 2018, 03:01 PM) Not much difference so far; and I didn't specifically check the details. sori ya in short:I'm not sure, but I did root mine using magisk. If you want to do root and eanble camera2 api: 1. Unlock bootloader 2. enable usb debugging, install Minimal ADB and Fastboot and also Xiaomi driver/software suit 3. Put TWRP (download from official site: (https://twrp.me/xiaomi/xiaomiredminote5pro.html) inside Minimal ADB & Fastboot directory. To make it easier afterwards, rename the file to twrp.img 4. download Magisk installer and Magisk uninstaller; put anywhere in your phone 5. attach cable to pc and phone, set pc as trusted for adb 6. run adb 7. type adb devices, press Enter. there should be some kind of a string of characters and not empty. 8. type adb reboot bootloader and press Enter. Wait 9. Once at bootloader, type fastboot devices and press Enter. Again, make sure got string of characters and not empty/null 10. type fastboot boot twrp.img, press Enter and wait 11. When TWRP recovery fully loaded, you can install magisk, then reboot system. 12. After the phone boot up, install any build.pro editor from Play Store. 13. Run the app, give root permission (if needed) and type persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1 at the very end. 14. save and reboot. If you ever want to unroot, just repeat step 6-10, but instead run Magisk uninstaller. There's uninstall button in hte Magisk app, but I've tried it since too lazy to reinstall if it really uninstall Magisk 1. unlock bootloader (this itself is pretty long story, google for ;miui unlock bootloader) 2. flash twrp to phone using fastboot 3. root with magisk (optional) 4. flash anything with twrp u need unlocked bootloader to root but u can just unlock the bootloader and skip the root |

QUOTE(GTA5 @ Dec 4 2018, 10:52 PM) I have been using my redmi note 5 3gb ram for 6 months now, still very smooth with the latest MIUI update. Thank you for reply. Almost exactly my use except absolutely no gaming at all. If you are using for normal Web browsing, youtube, WhatsApp with occasional gaming (PUBG with basic settings) then it's more than enough. Whatsapp have to for work. Youtube and FB mainly for timepass. So I guess 3G should be enough. Just thought since Android OS is more .. demanding (if that's the right word) then maybe 4G should be minimum what with most brands having their own skin on top. |

If you can afford 4gb ram variant, better get 4gb ram for future proof, plus it has more storage 64gb. Whatsapp have to for work. Youtube and FB mainly for timepass. So I guess 3G should be enough. Then, another choice I would like to propose is Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 😊 Almost stock android (more free storage, more free RAM), bigger battery. Only RM499 10/12-12/12 on Lazada. Downside is no 802.11ac Wifi and no IR blaster and no Quick Charge 3.0 support ( only Quick Charge 1.0 ) and inferior camera app quality (can be solved by installing GCam). And the issues you will heard in YouTube reviews were old news. This post has been edited by QWERTYUIOP12: Dec 5 2018, 08:57 PM |
