Owh, I think it's because I downloaded a bit then I paused due to slow Internet.

all to GDrive?

are there any complete backup methods?

What do you want to back up first?

WhatsApp? Contacts? Documents?

hmm.. afaik whatsapp and contacts is with google.

I guess, app data, downloads/documents etc.

Currently for Xiaomi phones, you can use Mi PC Suite to backup your phone data.

Whatsapp - Google Drive ( Mine set to run daily at 3am using WIFI only )

Contacts/SMS/Notes/Recorder/Music/Calendar/WLAN synced to Mi Cloud ( Since only 5GB is provided for free )

Rest of the data is backed up to PC using Mi PC Suite.

What is the scenario of rooting rn5 nowadays? Still risky as before?

I haven't updated MIUI in a long time because of this

Hmm, havent tried rooting on RN5 AI before, i did it on the RN 3 before. Rooting will cause some apps unable to function or launch such as Banking apps ( Public Bank and HSBC ). Not sure about now on RN5 as i've moved on to Mi Mix 3.

You can pull down the notification bar and tap on the call recording thing after ending your call.

Unfortunately no

I'd say it's a really great phone. Even though i'm in China ROM beta, everything is a breeze. No hangs, fast gps lock , smooth and everything is a breeze. Phone vibration isn't that strong but somehow i find it very nice and solid compared to other phones.

Just to double check, you're using Celcom now right? no more under Umobile?

How's the battery life? I am kinda used to RN5 4K battery life.

And what about the camera? Especially the front selfie camera. Omg the sliding mechanism must be hnnngh right?

Initial was a battery drain. but after flashed to china dev rom and subsequent updates, the battery life is great. It boils down to optimization actually.

Camera is so much hnnggghhh than RN5 AI. the differences is obvious, sharper and crispier. For both front and rear.
I have to constantly remind myself to restrain from fiddling the sliding . Well i do occasionally indulge with playing with it to sate my urge.
