1 & 2, are u included in this group? If so, why whine?

Just sharing what he sees and thinks as the fact gives him such an impression, doesn't mean he is whinning, right? Unless you expect him to go around till he finds an opposite fact so that he wouldn't put such statements. wink.gif

My cousin sister goes to the second one, for your kind info.

My boss is slacking around the office. Doing nth but chatting and walking around to social. But when problem arise, he is the only guy who is able to solve the problem in 1 day. Company cares about a person who can solve problems. You dont pay a guy loads of monay to do photostats 24/7 (hardworking guy). Ppl get paid because they do something others cant do.

Well ppl said dats its better to have a grenade than 1000 arrows.

Reread his statement, I am just following his train of thought. That was his definition, perception and conviction. And for your kind info, what your sister does or does not, neither concern me nor i would care. That's her choice, but apparently its a big issue to somebody else tongue.gif

And if u still cant comprehend what he was saying, lemme reword it for u... "Sales engineers (or similar) dont deserve to earn high pay, simply because they dont have the passion..." Get the drift? And for your kind info, no I am not a sales engineer... cant even sell a pack of condom to save my soul tongue.gif

anyway, this thread is abt ppl sharing their experience in earning salary more than rm5k while below 25 yrs old. so i'm just sharing my experience. Yes i used to earn a lot, but that was the past. and i realize that things are too good to be true. It's hard to have a high pay job but satisfy ur happiness in the job, but i'm not saying such job doesn't exist. It does, but you have to work hard to find for it. from Rm1.1k rise til RM1.5k per day, then now paycut til xxxx amount (more than rm5k of cos) was a ride on the roller coaster.

We cannot have high pay forever because new things will arise and if we don't cope on the changes, we'll fall (this is what happened to me) So I will start back from low, after 1 yr I will go try Europe again and aim higher next time.

Engineer can do the same (see those engineers who left msia and work oversea). Those who only know complain salary low but never act to make a change, will continue stay in those MNCs in Penang and have a stagnant life. I have friends from Agilent resign and apply scholarship go study Master, now they're in Finland and Germany.

love, family, dream <-- choose either 1 only, cannot have both or more.. work hard for dream, gain 1-2 yrs experience, bring the money u earn back to msia, start a family with ur love 1 tat last for 80-90 yrs. once u get married and settle down, it's even harder to go oversea work because of commitments here.

i go through a lot of resumes in my line.

For IT jobs, 5k jobs by 28 is more likely in Vendor Side Jobs.
Also on the level of work, MIS/support is less, Specialist like programmer/infra implementation/L2/L3 would have more chance

1 & 2, are u included in this group? If so, why whine? Your sweeping statement makes a mockery to those who made it. How long have u being an engineer and how many engineers in how many industries that u know? Or is it just a perception through a rose-tinted spec?

There tend to be a bad apple in very basket full of them.  So, are u looking at the bad one representing the overall basket or otherwise?
Are those not engineers?

I have repeated thousands times in this forum and I really think ppl here just dun get the point. U dun have to b the best to critize or give comment in a forum, like my example, do u have to be a top chef to tell the food taste good or bad in a restaurant? Do u have to b a professor to tell someone did bad in physics? I dun have to know all engineers in malaysia to tell what I feel.

I never say all engineers in malaysia r not hardworking or without passion, I just said I saw many who doesn't have the passion. Of course I met few very very good engineers, some even gave talk in european countries. But I just saw many who r not satisfied with engineering job, they choose engineering just becoz they dun have better things to do. Compare to my oversea counterparts, they become engineers because they really like engineering.

But dun get me wrong. I have made my statement, making 5k or more at 28 is very common today. There is no big deal. the living standard now is so high in KL. For ex, my ex company, any fresh grad who work there more than 5 years will definately hit 5k.

Hasyir,

Don't get me wrong. I never doubt his ability of making 22k per month. I have mentioned this in my first post. So this only means u din read carefully.

I only said, this kind of pay is not reasonable in malaysia. Only very very few ppl get this kind of pay. That is my main point.

But 5k at 28 is definately a norm in malaysia nowadays. that is my second point.

By the way, it is very childish of u to say that his level is hgher n my level is lower so that he doesn't have to care what I said. No wonder our leaders dun listen to the ppl all these years, because they all have a T-rex brain like u. First, u dun know my pay. Secondly, We must have mutual respect and listen to others no matter how much he earns rite? does it means someone who make less than 2k can not talk to someone who make 5k? is this ur idea?

Hi. I'm 26 and earning about 9k a month including allowances. Qualification, business diploma. I'm working in a big aquaculture/agriculture company.

I feel, the way to get promoted and get increased pay in all business is.

1. Don't ask stupid question to your boss/manager. Duh? lol
2. Be mature, motivated and only keep speaking about success. I believe all Boss loves to hear about success.
3. Have a positive attitude always. Hide your gloom face.
4. Be highly effective in whatever you do.
5. Be in good terms with whoever is above you. If can also ask them go out have tea and talk to them about company issues.

If the person above you isn't pushing you. Than learn to push yourself. Esp, when your boss around. Lol. And of course, hard work is needed to achieve that. Unless you working for shell. Haha.

Anyway, expose yourself like presentation or give more good suggestions to improve company performance.
It will help ourself too.
Dont be a 'backstabber' otherwise will hardly survive.
I think this is a way to earn 5k monthly.

Nah. Of course. Never patah balik if you see your boss... Later he might think you have something to hide and if he doesn't know of your existance how to get promoted.

For me, I won't purposely find out where he will appear and what time cause my boss doesn't go the office often, alot of travelling. If I see him than i will talk to him (if i got good ideas to share) .

How you find out where he appear and what time? If its through a person that is higher ranked than you. Than won't he get suspicious of what your doing? If he gets intimidated even worst. He might throw in some bad words about you in front the boss. Politics.
