if its IT line... get a contract job first as the pay will normally higher or the renew of the contract will normally come with a price... getting 5K and above is very easy... to get to 10k before 30 is really hard at least for me.... =) maybe someone that have that can share it with us...

Instead of day dreaming of getting 22k per month, please accept the fact that only very very few ppl get this kind of offer ok. probably 0.01%. I don't doubt your ability of making 22k at some shell or oyster company but it is just not reasonable for others.
According to statistic, the average pay of an engineer with more than 5yrs experience make 80k to 100k USD which is around 22k to 30k rm per month. but....

1) we r third world country and they r first world
2) they work at headquarters and we work at their oversea branch
3) they r doing all the real stuff (design.. R&D), and we r doing donkey jobs for them. u can ask those engineers in penang US MNC

So? do u think they r going to pay us more than the US counterpart for being lower productivity? why would they wan to outsource if we r same as them? And u guys wan a pay higher than the US counterparts? so please wake up... In fact, u have better chance to make more money in local company. And if u wan to argue that many engineers in US and europe can make very high pay, I would say.. mayb, that is why alot of those companies r losing like hell and cutting headcounts. Same goes to the dubai, everyone used to woo and ahh about working in dubai for high pay, and now many flee because it is too expensive to sustain... the worker pays r crazy and the whole thing looks like a scam

I always believe, ur pay is directly related to ur productivity, to sustain the high pay. so the equation is simple, if u wan higher pay, just increase ur productivity and help the company to make more money!!!

Well, u can claim that u r SAP or watever shit. I know what SAP is ok. I just read that u r doing nothing at ur office while getting 22k, I dun think that is something reasonable also.

Personally, I know many partners wif high pay, but they really create such value for the org.

Finally, yes, malaysian engineer can not get high pay because:
1) they r not working hard enuff
2) no passion in engineering while being an engineer (many even involve in direct sales and insurance selling, funny rite?)
3) even if they wan to work hard, there is not much opportunity in malaysia, we dun have our own intel after intel invested here 30 years... I guess china would have their own intel already if intel dare to put R&D there for 3 years.

Hi. I'm 26 and earning about 9k a month including allowances. Qualification, business diploma. I'm working in a big aquaculture/agriculture company.

I feel, the way to get promoted and get increased pay in all business is.

1. Don't ask stupid question to your boss/manager. Duh? lol
2. Be mature, motivated and only keep speaking about success. I believe all Boss loves to hear about success.
3. Have a positive attitude always. Hide your gloom face.
4. Be highly effective in whatever you do.
5. Be in good terms with whoever is above you. If can also ask them go out have tea and talk to them about company issues.
If the person above you isn't pushing you. Than learn to push yourself. Esp, when your boss around. Lol. And of course, hard work is needed to achieve that. Unless you working for shell. Haha.
