Its locked to 4G, so you have no data if no LTE coverage. The phone will not even receive calls except Volte.

You need to manually revert back to LTE/3G/2G.

From my previous experience while using Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

Can u enlighten me how to lock go LTE? What is the setting to lock?
*
Different phones have different setting.

This steps for Samsung phones:

Dials *#2263#
Pick LTE Part 1 (Service Mode)
Then select LTE ALL

Walla, now you locked on 4G.

Oneplus One doesn't support LTE band 5 totally and hence this is why. Oneplus Two and Note 3 support LTE band 5. LTE band 5 is known for its wall penetrating capability and range.

However your Oneplus One was still able to connect to LTE because the are you went was covered with LTE band 38/40 which Oneplus One support. Rest assure that the other two model of your phone support band 38/40.

thanks for your answer. been using 1+1 for almost 3 years now, only today i know it doesn't have band 5 LTE sweat.gif

Band 38/40 is used by Webe/Unifi Mobile on places with higher population density. Band 5 is used for both populated area and rural area. To get the best out of the LTE, consider using it on phones with band 5 support.

use 4g lock app, easier to switch/lock network.

or for mi phones, multiple-tapping About Phone | Internal Storage to access hidden menus.

Face this problem for quite some time d.. always need to turn to airplane mode.. even sometime I sit at home, it will auto cut off from LTE to 3G, n I need to turn on n off airport mode to get back to LTE. The signal getting worst these days.. having this problem more frequent now

mine is when it enter 3g mode in non 4g area, it wont turn into 4g mode automatic after enter in 4g area unless i turn on and off airplane mode. it kind of annoying to do that every time. test it with two phones
*
so no way to rectify other than to turn on plane mode and off again to restart the signal?

Currently yes as the signal is getting worse due to free SIM promotion.
My case is more weird. The network stays at 4g but it could suddenly drop from Band 38 to Band 5.
