QUOTE(kenlui @ Aug 31 2018, 09:31 PM) Got mine replaced in Machines north point on Wednesday. Sent it at about 12pm, amount of ppl there was huge, so had to wait for almost an hour for my turn. Was told that the phone can be collected at 4pm, went there and was asked to come back at 530pm due to the large amount of phones. May i ask once battery changed, will all your date gone?

Perhaps u havent changed ur batt before? They have a disclaimer in the service centre that they will remove all accessories like screen protector.

You are right that I have never change my iPhone battery before. I read that some service centres did not reset the iPhone when sent in for battery change.

QUOTE(attw @ Sep 3 2018, 06:55 AM) Even better. Any idea why there is a failure to replace at The Curve? Not sure, the technician said could be the board problem. If took 6 days (included weekend) to get my phone back. But then all the while the phone is working fine till the day of replacement took place. And it warranty only 3 months.

I sent my 6Plus to do battery replacement. They said that my battery is fine even though I have around 1400 charge cycle. And if the batter doesn't last whole day, it is likely to be bloated. So, they went ahead and take a look and then came back to confirm that it is bloated. Bloated battery they cannot replace the battery and so, they want to send to Apple for a 1-1 phone replacement for RM$239 (forgot exact amount). They passed the phone back for me to think if I want to do a 1-1 exchange. My phone was fine.. and I worry if I exchanged to a refurb one there will be NEW problems in the future. Sometimes, I feel these guys are just lazy! They rather not spend 3 hours to fix and suggest a replacement !

Sometimes, I feel these guys are just lazy! They rather not spend 3 hours to fix and suggest a replacement ! Personally I trust Apple's refurbish units. Apple have very strict policy even with repairs. That is why their phones are expensive. It is much easier for them to change to a refurbished units and then take their time to refurbish yours and use it for next client. This will make sure they take their time to fix the phones properly. Fixing a phone is not as simple as you think. They have tons of phones to repair everyday. It doesn't help when clients are in a hurry to take back their phone. For the risk of having my phone reset and losing my screen protector and so on, I would rather change the battery myself. It is cheaper anyway. Best for those who can DIY themselves.

I replaced my sg unit in machines malaysia. As for the battery is swollen, the only way forward is to replace your phone. They couldn’t replace the battery due to existing protocols.
