Surprise that you don’t need to format. That should be the way, less hassle for their customers but I don’t know why the ITWorld I went insisted on formatting both my devices.

Just replaced my battery when 86%.
RM121 no tax.
No need format, no need remove screen protector(But broken after replace hahahaha).
Done within 2hrs.

The technician said 86% still working well no need change. But I still want to change.

For those who replaced battery and the shop insist to reformat the phone, do you know why they want to do so?

As many users have reported, not every branch will have such practise. Many would still require the phone to be formatted

I've been to both for different issues, the One U one is run by Mac City while the one in Curve is run by machines. I prefer machines, the staff were a tad friendlier.

I sent my 6Plus to do battery replacement. They said that my battery is fine even though I have around 1400 charge cycle. And if the batter doesn't last whole day, it is likely to be bloated. So, they went ahead and take a look and then came back to confirm that it is bloated. Bloated battery they cannot replace the battery and so, they want to send to Apple for a 1-1 phone replacement for RM$239 (forgot exact amount). They passed the phone back for me to think if I want to do a 1-1 exchange. My phone was fine.. and I worry if I exchanged to a refurb one there will be NEW problems in the future. Sometimes, I feel these guys are just lazy! They rather not spend 3 hours to fix and suggest a replacement !

I had the same situation as you. Funny cos I can't see any visible bloating issue.
